This messes up the learning process. A class is only 45 minutes long, and when a student talks the teacher must stop their lecture in order to punish the student. It is even inappropriate to talk a little in the lesson while the teacher is pulling up a video. This may seem unfair but talking still has the potential to somehow distract the students who are not working. Perhaps it takes their minds out of class mode and sets the tone for a distracted learning environment.
I tried to keep focus but my solitude was starting to become unbearable. Yes there were many students around but they all seemed to have their own network since they knew their classmates from their previous schools while all of my friends were in regular ed classes. I started to rebel and slacked off so much that teachers began to wonder why i was in a advanced class since they thought i couldn't hack their work load when in reality all i wanted to do was be placed in regular ed just to be with my friends. Odd and dumb reason, i know but I didn't know that at the time. Eventually I was moved from classes due to my insubordination and i was content at the time.
Picture your average high school hallway- people going two separate ways in opposite directions. Although fairly large, these hallways still are fairly narrow when there's lines of traffic going different ways. Then add in the problem of crossing the hallway to get to classes on the sides, or the stairs. When you put at least 3,000 students into these hallways, good luck trying to get to your class or a set of stair without hitting at least one person. In my school, this is a major problem.
Every ones talking about cranky teens when in reality we are just over stressed and not getting enough sleep. These days it seems like teachers are having competitions with each other to see who can give the most homework therefore; students are having a hard time doing extracurricular activities and balancing homework all in one night. All of these issues have one cause to blame and that my friend is homework. And that is why as students, we believe that homework should be abolished. Life of a student is a very stressful one, as you drag yourself to school around 7:40 you desperately try to find friends that have completed a large sum of the mound of homework we were given the day before.
Not to mention the flooded hallways due to everyone being released at the same time. It’s almost suffocating walking through the hallway because thousands of students are trying to go to their next class. Trying to maneuver to your next class can be a battle within its self because of the traffic one must go through just to get to class .Typically high school campuses are fairly large in which if a student has a class across the school then they not only have to go across the school but must hurriedly use the restroom. This can cause some students to stress about arriving to their next class on time instead of focusing on their studies. Students shouldn’t have to be penalized for not having an adequate amount of time to do what is necessary before going to their next class.
Paul felt the need to lie compulsively. During his meeting in the principal’s office he was asked to state why he was there, his response was that he wanted to come back to school, “This was a lie, but Paul was quite accustomed to lying; found it, indeed, indispensable for overcoming friction”, (Cather, 245). Thus, Paul used his lies to make him feel more comfortable in situations that were vexing. Paul’s speech and his mannerisms were not appreciated by his classmates, and his teachers; his teachers expressed this by “falling upon him without mercy”, during his meeting in the principal’s office. The students showed this by becoming “listless” during his stories.
Multiple victims who are hurt from being bullied are starting to fail in school. There are many effects on bullying and some samples are thinking about suicide, scared of coming to school, and beginning to not care about school. There has been a great increase in deaths because of students getting bullied. The bullies scare the students so much that they do not want to come to school
Living by myself, I realized the difficulty of waking up at your own will and the importance of analyzing the time it will take to get to each class. It also made me realize that I cannot get ready at the last minute and arrive to class exactly when it starts. One of the disadvantages of being at a small college is that the teachers are well aware of when you arrive late to class and often embarrass you for doing so. As stated earlier, I am a very shy person and by being called out in front of the whole class, made me realize that you cannot take time for granted. An encounter in where I realized the importance of time management was when I went to bed late on a school night and missed a whole class and lab.
Leeban Ali March 28, 2012 As a student who attends high school I believe that cell phones should not be allowed during school hours! Also most of the students have it out and texting during class. Cell phones are becoming more and more of a disruption to the learning progress of students. This will have major affect on them in the long run because when it comes to tests and exams they won’t know what to do. People say that students can use their phones for emergencies at school but they can just make a phone call in the office.
