These new characters (named Zoo Zoo) from vodafone's new advertising campaign is very funny, cute and interesting. When the commercials were aired for the first time during an IPL match, the characters looked animated and alien. Do you know how Zoo Zoo's are made? Well alien they are but not animated? Surprised! It's creativity at it's peak; these characters are made with real human beings. These are the belle artists (women and children) who are wearing special body suits. This new creation by vodafone deceives viewers to believe that these are animated characters. Probably, it is the new way to create animation. Nirnana Films has produced these commercials for vodafone and these are directed by Prakash Varma. He revealed that this campaign was a very big challenge for everyone involved. Zoo Zoo's move, talk, look, expressions, gestures and emotions; everything is brilliant. The costume design, artwork, sets and the props used are well synchronized. The team worked on two dozwn concepts to arrive at this idea. Even this idea before and after the production had differences. It took three weeks of pre-production to arrive at the final settings. The choice of body suit brought lot of challenges. The fabric (perspex) chosen was thicker and stuffed with foam in key places. The outfit was divided in two parts - body & head. The head was made much bigger (about five times) than human head with the provision of ventilation. The hands and legs were kept thin to create the illusion of alien creatures smaller than humans.
