a ) How does the motivation factor differ in young learners and adults? Motivation factor is basically the driving force for persons to attain certain goals. It is comprised of interest, self-confidence, competence and persistence. There is difference in the motivation factor in young learners and adults. The adults are probably motivated by themselves which is termed as self motivation. Adults understand the importance of the goal and they can easily estimate themselves when compared to young learners. When people know their qualities as well as the qualities required for achieving the goal, it becomes easier to match both and to work with interest and enthusiasm. Also being self motivated, they don’t require a person who keeps on initiating and encouraging them to progress. Most of the young learners are enthusiastic in nature. All they need is an initiation. We can make them self-motivated by giving them a confident beginning. Giving positive and frequent feedbacks, rewarding their success and praising the students for all independent steps they make help making them motivated. For young learners, it is easier to cut away the diversions and focus the interest towards the goal than the adults. The young learners get motivated when they are succeeded in any goal. This motivation force drives them to focus their interest on goals to achieve success. So, it is important to create an open as well as a positive environment to make them self motivated. b) What according to you are 3 most important tips for teaching the young learners? The young learners mostly represent the children in the age 5-12 years.
