Young Athletes Essay

Athletes in the sport like gymnastics and tennis started playing when they were still young. These sports require a lot of time training that they need to leave their home and studies behind to have a proper training. Exceptionally talented young athletes should be allowed to participate in Professional Sports even if they need to leave home and school. First, they need to have the same rights as adult. They have the talent that many adults wish they had. If they play in a professional level, they need to participate regardless of their age. Sometimes, athletes have their peak on a certain time and it disappears as they grow old. In the recent Olympics, the members of team USA in gymnastics are all teenagers and they can only compete once in their life. Second, the earlier they are exposed in the Professional Sport, the better their chance to be successful and to be popular. In tennis, players started at a young age and some of them left schools and went to a training school instead. They even left their homes to join the junior circuit tour. Furthermore, school is not for everyone. Roger Federer had little interest in studying, but he never regret leaving school for tennis. Now, he is the “GOAT in tennis”. If young athletes are not allowed to play professionally, there will be no Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and even Serena Williams in tennis. If the team USA didn’t send young teenage gymnasts in Olympics there will be no “fantastic five” and no team gold for the U.S. There should be no age limit to compete and be exposed to game professionally as long as they have the talent. If they excel better in sports rather than school, why not give them the chance to play
