We are often told that "you can't buy happiness". If you were richer, do you think you would be happier? Why/why not? Which do you think are generally happier - rich people or poor people?

The old saying is "you can't buy happiness". But is that true?
If you ask this question, people will start arguing. Some people will surely tell that the real happiness can't be bought for money. But there will be many people who tell that money can make you happier. And all of them will be right, actually. Everything depends on what meaning people put in this notion - happiness. As for me, I consider that happiness is a condition of mind when you feel comfort and ease, and you are relaxed about your future, and you are sure about people who surround you, you are sure in today's and tomorrow. What does provide such state of mind? Yes, without doubt such things like love, family, hobbies, health, friends, career bring happiness. But let's reflect for a minute, whether it is possible to have all this without money? Any adult person will tell that is not. You need money take care about your health, to get an education and to find good job, to buy a house and a car and to start a family, you need money for your hobby, and to make friend and to go out with your friends. Who wants to be friends with sick homeless drunkard who barely make ends meet? Not many, I think.
Would I be happier if I were richer? I even have no doubts. OK, maybe I have some. But for 90% I am sure that I would be happier if I had a lot of money. Probably, I wouldn't buy such happiness as love and friendship, but I precisely would entertain myself and without love and friendship. I wouldn't buy happiness, but would buy many happy and joyful moments. Besides, no one, I think, would argue with the fact that money can help you get all these components of happiness.
