Yoga and Meditation’s Beneficial Attributes to the Human Body Laying motionless, letting everything go, your hands beside you with your palms up, feet rolled to the edge of your mat, in savasana. That feeling of peace within you, escaping everything beyond you. This very sensation is one of the key elements to living a happy, health, and long life. Along with, indulging yourself into a world where yoga and meditation are a part of your daily flow. In a scientific study it was reported that students often described changes in relationships and their ability to handle social situations that they normally might react to in negative manor, prior to starting the study (Arambula). Yoga and meditation both take positive tolls on any person who regularly engages in these activities, both mentally and physically. Meditation and yoga both release hormones and toxins from the body that allows our human physique to heal its self. Participants in a 15 week, mindfulness-based stress reduction course reported positive physical, emotionally, mental, spiritual, and interpersonal changes (Arambula). Many individuals displayed decreased levels of depression and anxiety (Krishnamurti). Studies have shown stress may pilot the body to accommodate worse diseases (Arambula). Many students proclaimed that yoga and meditation allowed them to become more comfortable in silence. They accounted that through the study they realized a rise in relaxation, and not feeling the need to control situations because of their own anxiety (Krishnamurti). With all these facts put together some deem meditation and yoga is the best medicine. By absorbing these two things into your way of life you are allowing your body to mend oneself.
