My grandfather on the other hand thinks differently as he spent most of his youth in this period of time in fact he was once sixteen in the year of 1956. With the war over and Hitler dead for at least ten years up till then food was still rationed and some things such as fuel were in short supply, many countries were or had already finished rebuilding their destroyed and war-torn nations, but they were also rejoicing at the fact of world peace the war was over. Eventually the world calmed down and began spinning again at its normal speed, and with this, new ideas and inventions became brought to life. Thus from these we received the television remote control, truly a sign of laziness but an invention nevertheless. Sport seemed to be plundering on all throughout the year. The Olympics were now more about competition and fun, considering that there were no serious rivalries’ between nations.
