Program: Associate Degree and Manchester College Second Internship Report Faculty Responsible: Jocelyne Prifti By: Michael-Daniel Whittle Ref: 491 The Wyndham Grand Chelsea Harbor Preface: I would like to just take a moment before beginning my report, to mention that the last two years studying at ECTS I have had the opportunity to complete two internships which was a requirement of my course. I can’t express what both 6 months periods have meant to me. Each internship has changed my life in its own way. I have worked hard but most of all have enjoyed them every second. There were difficult times as there will always be ahead of me, but I could not have gotten through them if it were not for the interns and friends that came to pass through my life. I had the wonderful opportunity to meet new friends from different cultures and backgrounds. People that will remain close to me in my future. Most of all, it has opened my eyes to really understanding the hospitality business. There is so much out there and I am willing, with all my heart to face the future challenges so that I may raise high in today’s society. Michael * Historical background and main Purpose: The wonderful Wyndham Grand hotel is by far unique and truly one of a kind. It stands in the middle of the private residence of Chelsea Harbor. 8 stories high with 158 different suites. Once the only 5 star all suite hotel of the great well known city of London. The hotel opened its doors for the first time as the Wyndham Chelsea Harbor in 2007 after being the Conrad for several years before. Last Christmas of 2009 the hotel closed for 3 weeks refurbishment, and reopened early January 2010 as the Wyndham Grand.
