Describe why it is essential that the mentor has good communication skills Good communication is integral to the mentor-mentee relationship; therefore the ability to communicate effectively is essential. Mentoring involves a lot of discussions and open conversations between the mentor and the mentee, therefore the mentor should know how to effectively get the message across to the individual with ease. This is especially important during the giving of feedback to the mentee. The mentor must be able to relay feedback and remarks constructively and positively without demeaning the mentor’s self-esteem. Good communication skills, such as active listening and questioning skills are essential for the mentor to ensure that learner fully understand what being discussed.

Summary Response Amadeo Constanzo is the author of “Do You Really Think You Are a Good Writer?” and he believes that if you are in a remedial class English then “instead of wasting time and energy on negative thoughts, use the energy and time to improve your writing” or other skills. Constanzo supports remedial classes because even the best athletes train to be better just like a writer practices to become a better writer. I very much agree with Constanzo because the majors I currently have would eventually deal a lot with presentation documents. M2- Self awareness is the ability to know myself, my abilities, limitation and what is my personality is like. Self awareness is a very important tool to have as it helps me to be conscious of my limits and areas for further development. It is hard to do this with a friend because we may not want the friend to know who we really are. Before we can professionally help others as counsellors, we need to be self aware. This is because of the nature of the role of counsellors.
While this book has some weaknesses in helping you select the direction you should go in, it is superb in helping you pursue your goals once they are set. The rhetorical triangle was used when distinguishing between the audience, the issue, and the speaker. In the triangle, the speaker usually found ways to make himself sound credible and trustworthy. The speaker also strived to show their credibility by making an impression on an audience. In order to accomplish this, the speaker must be familiar with his audience and make the appropriate appeals to that audience to get their attention. This was important because without the interest of the audience, the point you were trying to get across was nearly useless.
Dear Mnings, and my goals from this class are to apply the knowledge that I have previously learned and to learn new ways to express myself. I think that this class can really help improve the way that we write. I am also hoping to make the best of this class and succeed productively. I hope to expand my techniques in writing. I also want to challenge myself to be a better person where my grammar is concerned.
George studied English with the author so that he may communicate better with his co-workers. If George improves his English significantly, he may find better jobs with higher salaries, or he may go to school for better education and get even better opportunities. It is typical at first to be in a harsh environment. However, with strong determination, George can achieve the American Dream. Staying on the road to the American Dream is not easy.
Along with that I hope to learn more about better time management in my college skills 105 class. College skills class with be a very important one because, many people including myself need better time management skills. In this day and age writing and proper grammar seem to be a passing fad, but to be successful in today’s modern world I believe it is extremely important to maintain and further advance these skills.
This shows that students are not just writing more but they are actually using knowledge of writing techniques to adapt their text to cater to a particular audience. Basically, I think it is okay to say that we as a generation are not getting dumber. We may be storing less information in our brains as Bauerlein pointed out in his article but that is all because we have gotten used to the idea of having access to almost any answer at any location. Just think about the jobs we are going to be able to do in the future if we can use our brains for exclusively for thinking because memory would be stored somewhere else.
