National Honor Society members have an outstanding performance in the areas of leadership, service, character and their academics. They must demonstrate a leader and model to others a person leaning towards success. Members must work well with others and be willing to give back to the community. Although, not only do they have to display leadership and service, but members express honesty, loyalty, courtesy, concern and respect within their character. This is such a formidable opportunity itself to be involved in due to the dedication of helping and caring for others, and being associated with multitudes of non- profit organizations. Leadership plays a huge role. I’ve always tried to show more of an independent role as a student, and help others who don’t quite understand the things that I do.
I feel that in order for success you must follow a certain set of guided ideas. Those ideas shall lead you to success and self-pride. These ideas can also be called the Four Pillars of the National Honors Society: Scholarship, leadership, service, and character. To follow these pillars is the key to being remembered, it’s the key to success. To be inducted into the National Honors Society, to me, would be my greatest accomplishment in Lenape High School.
