T.D.A 2.1 3.3 Each child will experience different changes in their lives. These are known as transitions and can be as common as starting school to changes of the body, to transitions only some children and young people may experience, such as the seperation of parents to abuse. These transitions will affect children and young people in their development and show in ther behaviour. The move from primary school to secondary school is a transition every child will encounter. It can affect the child in many ways as they can become nervous and anxious resulting in them becoming withdrawn and have a lack of confidence at the thought of a new school, they may be leaving close friendship groups making them upset and feeling alone.
Children of separated couples may also perform worse at school and have poorer future employment prospects. Some children are less likely to have successful relationships themselves as adults. However, it is not inevitable that all children will suffer long term harm from the break up of a parent’s relationship. Reference: One plus One strengthening relationships www.oneplusone.org.uk New Sibling: Very young children will find this the most difficult to cope with, vying for parental attention for the first time. Some children may ‘play up’ in response to the stress of the life change.
Thrust into the real world with our confidence almost permanently shattered, we are expected to be successful and important when prior to that we were always told the opposite. Bullying harms us not only in our youth, but for the rest of our lives. In the poem “To This Day” by Shane Koyczan, we hear the story of children who have faced the effects of being bullied. A little girl for something as foolish as a birthmark on her face and a boy for thinking pork chops and karate chops were the same. Age did not change the words that cut through that poor little girl.
However, children lose their innocence every day as they grow older. In today’s society many children lose their innocence and do not grow up in a strong, courageous manner. Instead they become pressured with the media and have a difficult time just trying to fit in. Judging from we have seen from Jem, Dill, and Scout, it is obvious that peer pressure is not the only kind of issues that we face in this world today. People still lie about who they are and prejudice is also very exsistent.

A very interesting article on the CBS News Healthwatch website presented a dialogue which described the healthcare debate right on point. The dialogue represented the many different perspectives involved in this debate. The scenario is of a patient who has acute appendicitis and goes in for treatment. Throughout the dialogue, the surgeon suggests doing an operation right away, the medical equipment salesman suggests using advanced tools, the administrator is concerned about using the most efficient treatment method, the owner of a drug company suggests treating with only antibiotics, and then the funeral director suggests not doing anything (CBSNews 2009). After the dialogue is complete, the article states “Very smart people are zoning out

If the child has had to change nurseries numerous times they could feel disorientated, they could become withdrawn and they could even regress. It is important to limit such changes in a child’s life at a young age as they are so easily effected by it. Supporting children correctly within their few days and/or weeks of transition into nursery is of utmost importance. Children may become very stressed and anxious during this time and in these cases tend to cry, be withdrawn and refuse to be involved in play and activities. There are many ways to assist the child to have a smooth
Another such example is medicine. Antibiotics, which at the time of its invention was hailed as the savior of mankind, is now causing diseases to mutate and develop antibiotic resistance, which means that modern antibiotics can no longer kill or stop the diseases. Also, almost all medication has some sort of side effect like those television commercials that have the really fast talker at the very end listing the side effects. These two examples show how progress has drawbacks. Last of all, no matter how far one progress, they can still progress further.
