Abstract On 28 July of 1914, the assassination of Archduke Francis Ferdinand and his wife sparked the beginning of World War 1. The World War 1 conflict was opened by the Austria-Hungary invasion of Serbia, followed by the Germany invasion of Belgium, Luxembourg, and France. In addition, a Russia attacks against the Germany. Even though rulers made peace terms and negotiations, they built up their armies and formed new alliances to respond to the growing danger. Several alliances were formed, later on major powers were at war, and soon the conflict spread around the world. Moreover, the result of the World War 1 was the formation of new countries in Europe and the Middle East, and the establishment of the League of Nations. The League of Nations was formed in the hope of preventing such another devastating conflict.
