World Hunger I believe world hunger is our biggest global issues. Hunger is not only a problem in the poorer 3rd world countries, but its a problem in every country. Everywhere you go there's always going to be malnourished people. Hunger could grow into an even bigger problem if we don't start doing more to try and fix it. 925 million people suffering from chronic hunger (Issues: World Hunger). Hunger is a huge problem and we need to find ways to lessen it significantly. The majority of world hunger stems from poverty. Not all poor people are malnourished, but mostly all malnourished people are poor. Over 9 million people die worldwide each year because of hunger and malnutrition, 5 million are children (Issues: World Hunger."). Yet we waste so much food, approximately $38 billion US dollars worth of food is thrown away, every year. which is ridiculous if we're complaining about world hunger. All that food we waste could instead benefit millions of starving people. Instead of spending that money we're wasting anyway we could benefit that money to charity for the hungry. There are many ways that can cause a person to starve.Diversion of land use to non-productive use, inefficient agricultural practices, war, drought, over-fishing, and poor crop yield are just a few examples. To help those poor people afford food i believe we have the responsibility of finding them a job to do so they can have a steady flow of cash. If people had money and could afford food problems with hunger would decrease tremendously. "Issues: World Hunger." N.p., 25 Sept. 2012. Web. 25 Sept. 2012. "Issues: World Hunger."
