BUTLER UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX WORKPLACE OBSERVATION 2 Abstract Hope Outreach is a non-profit organization. Their mission is to empower people towards a more responsible way of life. They do this by providing work in exchange for goods. Does this empower people towards a more responsible way life? This paper will describe the observable aspects of this organizations culture. It will address the aspect of organizational diversity, conflict management and how communication flows. WORKPLACE OBSERVATION 3 Workplace Observation: Hope Outreach Hope Outreach, a non-profit organization, began in the early 1990’s. They began in a small two bedroom house giving out clothes. As time progressed, Hope Outreach grew. They expanded. They were able to receive more donations and government grants. So, they were able to implement various programs. Some of the programs were a thrift store, pregnancy outreach center, half-way house, homeless shelters, community care, and gas vouchers. Then, they began the work in exchange for goods program, which is a part of the community care program. This is how they define their mission of empowering people towards a more responsible way of living. Do they really empower people towards a more responsible way of living? The paper will describe the observable aspect of the organizations culture. It will address perception of organizational diversity, conflict management and how communication flows.
