Here we are in this so-called world of freedom but when we exercise that freedom, we become ridiculed for making a choice. I would rather end a pregnancy instead of bringing a child into a world that they are forced to struggle and go without ; to make a child suffer is a far worse act then dissolving the birth of an unborn/ undeveloped fetus. In Roe v. Wade, a landmark Supreme Court decision in 1973, stated that a woman and her doctor may freely decide to abort a pregnancy during the first trimester, state governments can restrict abortion access after the first trimester with laws intended to protect the woman's health, and abortion after fetal viability must be available if the woman's health or life are at risk. Abortion was allowed in the United States of America
Having an abortion is killing an innocent person for insignificant reasons. If other people get killed or put into jail for killing other people then why, shouldn’t women who choose to abort their pregnancies? It is the same thing. Whether or not the baby is wanted, all people who kill any human being in any way need to be punished. If the mother and or father wasn’t allowed or didn’t want a child in the first place then as a couple they should have decided to be abstinent until they were ready to take on the responsibilities of having and taking care of a
Abortion: Pro-Choice or No-Choice “No woman wants an abortion as she wants an ice cream cone or a Porsche. She wants an abortion as an animal caught in a trap wants to gnaw off its own leg” (Think Exist, pg 3). Women should be able to have a choice. Abortions give women this choice, so there should be no reason to ever make abortions illegal. Pro-abortion is the belief in the right to choose to terminate a fetus.
In fact if we force this woman to have the surgery it could compromise the sanctity of a woman’s body. This would bring up the whole debate of abortion. Having the fetus’s rights just as important if not more than the mother’s, could say that if you have an abortion or miscarriage that you could be charged with a criminal offence. In the interest of fairness and justice, she should not be forced to have the
Constitutionality of Pre-Abortion Procedures Few words can carry out the shivers and shakes that the word “abortion” can. It means to stop, to terminate. With this word comes judgment regardless of the situation. In the conservative political realm, it translates to murder. Abortions are performed for many reasons, varying from rape and incest to teenage and fatalistic pregnancies.
One of the most ethical controversial issues being debated now in United States is whether late- term abortion should be banned or not. Most people argued that it is proper to ban late-term abortion. They believe that it is un-ethical and a murder of an unborn child not a right of freedom of choice. It is an immoral act and violates the social and religious norms. On the other hand some people argued that late-term abortion should not be banned because it is necessary to terminate a fetus when the life of the woman is in danger as a result of complicated pregnancy; or when pregnancy result from incest or rape and the woman may be late in finding out that she is pregnant.
I am pro-choice but I have to say, abortion is a wide topic and it surprises me how women use abortion. I have heard of cases of women that use abortion as a birth control or just because having a less than a perfect child or just because a new baby doesn’t fit in their family. I always thought that abortion was an option because the life of a child would be miserable, for example, a teenager that was raped and she is unable to properly take care of her child; or a fetus diagnosed with a disease that would make the child suffering and the chances of survival are
The relgious aspects of abortion do not go along with Pro-Choice. Religons like Catholics or Protestants believe that a fetus is a person from conception (West Encyclopedia of American Law 3). So to them abortion goes against the Sixth Commandment of the Bible, "Thou shalt not kill" (ProCon 2). Many people do not agree with late term abortions, such as in the second and third trimester, made by reasons of convenience (Saad 1). By this time the baby can surely feel pain.
These are all reason that could be avoided, and save many lives in the early stages. One controversial reason a woman might have an abortion is if she has been raped. There are very few cases like this, and in the instance of pregnancy resulting from rape, Linda Lowen informs us “proper medical care can ensure that a woman will not get pregnant” (Abortion Arguments). Overall, the most common reason for having an abortion is that “over 95 percent… [are] women who simply do not want to have a baby” (Abortion is Murder). Women who get pregnant and are not ready to accept the responsibility should not let this result in the death of a human
Even countries around the world do have a problem with abortion to the point where they would implement laws to control whether the infant lives or dies. Even then Ann Scheidler, who is the vice president of the Pro-Life Action League, opposes how Northern Ireland treats human rights to unborn children since they are considered poor in health. The Republic of Ireland bans abortion entirely where it is illegal and that it is only allowed if the female’s life is in danger. According to reports between 1980 and 2014 around 163,514 women moved between countries to try to get an abortion. This brings up the fact that people only get abortions where it is only beneficial to themselves or that friends or family don’t want to have the child depending on if the woman is not ready for parenthood or whether she was accidently impregnated.
