21 March 2015 The Heroin Epidemic in Pennsylvania It’s on many street corners, its darkness travels through our homes and schools, and it tears apart families, friends and relationships. It leaves the user wanting more and more after just a few uses. The user wants to quit but is has a hold on them, a clutch that is so unbelievably strong that the user may never escape its clutch. The local news channel broadcasts the rising death tolls. Schools and communities are gathering in outreach programs trying to get a grasp on what has now become an epidemic.
I chose the book Bomb: The race to build and steal: The most dangerous weapon. In choosing a book for summer reading, I read all the summaries of the selection given to my freshman English class. One of the major deciding factors for me was interested. Being able to read a book that can hold on to your interest. I enjoy watching the History channel and have often found interest in past event with armed forces, so when reading this summary I found it caught my attention, the story revolved around the war.
