Winter verses Summer Robert Louis Stevenson had once said, “In winter I get up at night and dress by yellow candle-light. In summer quite the other way I have to go to bed by day.” Winter and summer are two of the four seasons, which are a remarkable time of the year. Though some people favour one season over the other, both seasons are enjoyed by many. Additionally, both the seasons have their own exclusive abilities for bringing family and friends together. While comparing and contrasting these two seasons I would state how they are alike yet different by their temperatures and the fun activities that people engage in. To begin with, the resemblances between summer and winter are that they both have extreme temperatures, where they could even break their recorded temperature. These seasons also have daylight savings, and sports which fit the season. Summer and winter are like night and day, totally opposites from each other in weather. That is summer is exceedingly warm while winter is frigid. As for students both seasons are enjoyable since they have no school. In the summertime it is usually warm and has long, hot, and sunny days and it is fun to be outside since it stays light out until late in the evenings. However, the temperature can be so miserably hot plus if it rains a lot in the summer it makes an ugly muddy mess. During the summer people take advantage of the wonderful weather, they enjoy going swimming, to the beach, sun bathe, go boating, or go for bike rides in the park. People go for walks and look at the flowers full in bloom, and they listen to the birds chirping in the trees and all of those fun summer activities everyone looks forward to. Summer is the time to wear thin light weight garments. People typically wear shorts, tank tops, and sandals. They wear bright vibrant colors and bathing suits in order to keep them cool.
