Victor was always curious about nature and life and this is how he becomes interested in electricity. “I remained while the storm lasted, watching its progress with curiosity and delight.” (Shelley, page 36). It was this night that got Victor thinking about electricity and eventually about creating life with it. Now, we save people all the time with electricity— restarting their hearts— but in the 1700s, it was unheard of. Victor’s curiosity led him to creating the monster.

The day before the zombie invasion, the audience is shown the regular, boring routine Shaun goes through each morning. Therefore, when Shaun starts to follow the exact same routine the next day, viewers can see a significant change in his neighborhood while Shaun remains oblivious that the people around him have changed. The directors’ purposely made Shaun have almost no reaction to the zombies around him to show that he is not all too different from them. Although he is not aggressive and does not have the craving to eat human flesh, Shaun shuffles around town mindlessly going to the drugstore moaning, half-asleep, like a zombie, being too set in his modern living style. Therefore, the directors’ are able to portray how people in the UK and the US are losing a sense of individuality and are mindlessly following the
They were followed by two women. One was the wife of Sheriff Peters and other, the wife of Hale who recounted the murder story. Hale was asked to recount the story of what he saw the previous morning by the sheriff, but was interrupted by the County attorney to know if anything at the crime scene had been disturbed or misplaced. But the sheriff assured the County attorney that, he had sent Frank to the farmhouse earlier to set up a stove fire, and was told not to touch anything except the stove in question. Hale recounted that, while he and his friend were on their way to town with a load of potatoes, he decided to check on his friend Wright, because it was just past eight o’clock in the morning hours to try to convince him to go with him on a party telephone line.
This is supported by, “highly regarded…lose an hour’s sleep in order to hear what he had to say.” The animals, due to Old Major’s maturity, accept what he says as fact and believe that he will act on what he declares. Snowball, although arguing with Napoleon regularly, takes on the opinions of the other animals on the farm, and tries to make the future of the farm successful. This is shown by, “Snowball also busied himself with organising the other animals into what he called Animal Committees.” Snowball also decided to change the seven commandments into one single maxim, “four legs good, two legs bad.” Snowball puts his efforts into spreading the word of animalism on other farms, through the pigeons, and communicates with the others on Animal Farm for himself. Napoleon, however, uses other animals to send out his messages, so that he becomes an unknown character to the other animals. This leads them to believe that he is superior to themselves, and that all of the decisions he
The father, regardless of his own cares, makes the effort on those winter Sundays to try to make things a little easier for the speaker. Unseen by the speaker, the loving father has gotten up early and brought warmth into their home and into the speaker’s day. Also, when the speaker states, “and polished my good shoes as well” (12), the feeling once again is presented of this father doing all he can to take care of the speaker and show his love through his actions. David Huddle states in his essay, “somewhat remarkably, the poem’s thesis-that the office of love can be relentless, thankless, and more than a little mysterious” (553). That statement describes that the unconditional love of the father is taken for granted from the speaker.
Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. Summary, Stanza 3 Leaves cover both roads equally. No one on this morning has yet taken either road, for the leaves lie undisturbed. The speaker remains committed to his decision to take the road he had previously selected, saying that he will save the other road for another day.
The first example is Snowball in Animal Farm, Snowball fails because he cannot compete with Napoleon's brutal and selfish purpose to gain power "At the meetings, Snowball often won over the majority through his brilliant speeches, but Napoleon was better at canvassing support for him in between times. "(Orwell 70). Power struggles emerged and served to divide and not unite the animals of the farm. Power became a corrupting and ultimately negative influence by the end of the book. The second example is Ralph in Lord of the flies, he lost the control of children in front of Jack "Jack clamored among them, the conch forgotten."
