People in general need to accept defeat in every aspect of life. Winning isn't everything. Sports teams need to learn to accept defeat, to never give up, and to play for fun. First off, winning isn't everything, because it is important to accept defeat. Especially in life, there will be times when you will lose in situations. It is important to accept the loss and move on. The main idea in competitive situation is to do your best and if you lose, dust yourself off and try again. For example, Dale Earnhart did not win every single race, but he kept on trying. Defeat could not hold him back and he was still a winner. Secondly, a respectable player must learn to never give up. “Try try try again,” is what my coach says. A great athlete never gives up. For example, after a three month slump, Tiger Woods still placed in the tour. Enduring a loss teaches an athlete to keep trying harder. Lastly, playing is for fun and not just for winning. Playing recreational sports helps people meet others, and get exercise to be healthy. It’s not just about how many wins or losses you have. People should focus less on rewards and more about the fun of the game. For instance, an individual has trained incredibly hard for the competition. The player may still fail four out of five times. In conclusion, winning is great and enjoyable but it's not everything. By excepting defeat individuals learn self confidence. Self confidence teaches people to never give up. Never giving up educates people not to be frightened to lose. Without fear of defeat everyone is truly playing for fun.
