If the person napping is able to continue their train of thought up until they go to sleep, a lucid dream may occur due to immediate REM sleep. The basic definition of lucid dreaming requires nothing more than the dreamer realizing they are in a dream. However, the quality of lucidity varies greatly. When lucidity is at a high level, the dreamer is aware that everything experienced in the dream goes on in their mind, there is no real danger, and that they fell asleep in his or her bed and may wake optionally. With low level of lucidity, they can be aware to some extent they are dreaming, perhaps enough to fly, or modify what they do, but not enough to realize that people in the dream are only creations of their imagination.
The most helpful thing to do when I’m stressed is to go for a jog with my dog, or even by myself and all the stress is relieved with every step I take. Lastly is music. Music is a very helpful and easy way to manage your stress. Just put on your favorite tunes and let them take your mind off of things. For me, if I’m stressing and I can’t go for a jog or do some yoga, I’ll just put some happy music on and then I seem to forget about what was stressing me out in the first place.

One was that while the person sleeps his soul is separated from the body to meet the spirit of the night. Orthodox Jews regarded it as a kind of temporary death and thanked God for putting the heart back by morning. The ancient Greeks were the first who tried to explain it "scientifically."
Humans have in fact been in a hypnotic state on many occasions without even being aware of it. For example when you are driving perfectly physically, but mentally you are somewhere else and miss your turning off the motorway, or maybe even thinking about a loved one. Everything we learn is stored in our subconscious and with reference to the example above, driving skills are stored in our subconscious. Once you reach the desired speed while driving your conscious mind switches off and may turn to other matters, perhaps causing you to end up at an unintended destination. Hypnosis can be defined as ‘an artificially induced trance state resembling sleep, characterised by heightened susceptibility to suggestion’.
Have you ever wondered why people dream? I have and so I decided to learn something new. Researchers and dream doctors say dreaming is normal. Everyone dreams, it’s a normal part of your sleep cycle. Sleep is how we rejuvenate and restore many of the body’s functions.
In the movie, “The Matrix”, Morpheus, the leader of the crew Nebuchadnezzar, asks Neo to choose between a red pill and blue pill, essentially offering between fate and free will. The difference between fate and free will is that fate is the development of events outside a person’s control, regarded as determined by a supernatural power; whereas free will is the power of acting without the constraint of necessity or fate; the ability to act as one’s own discretion. In the Matrix, fate rules since the world is reconstructed and actions predetermined, all questions already have answers and any choice is simply the illusion of choice. In the real world, humans have the power to change their fate, take individual action, and make mistakes. Neo chooses the red pill, which signifies real life, and learns that free will isn’t fascinating.
Despite their appearance, sleep terrors are not nightmares. Nightmares are vivid dreams that occur during REM sleep, and most people can recall most or all of their nightmares. ( http://stanfordhospital.org/clinicsmedServices/clinics/sleep/sleep_disorders/nighttime-sleep-behaviors.html) On the other hand, sleep terrors occur during the deepest stages of sleep when dreaming does not occur. Commonly one who has a sleep terror cannot recall what was so frightening to them. It is typical during a sleep terror for a person to scream, sweat, have a rapid pulse and sit up in bed.
Around 24:23 Donnie has his first painfully realistic foreshadowing dream and second vision of Frank, the man in the bunny suit. From these early facts, it’s clear to me that the stylization of format is that of “reality” and then a type of “alternate or sub reality”. Which I could also describe as hallucination except it’s directly effecting his actual reality, which leads me to believe that it’s more than simply something happening in his mind. Unless of course we’re suppose to believe that Donnie’s projection of these intense dreams are manifesting themselves into realities because he has some sort of super power. Or because he was chosen specifically as some type of martyr for an omnipotent being
The act of dreaming is the experience of situations, images, emotions and thoughts that take place during sleep. Dreams are strongly associated with rapid eye movement also known as REM sleep, during which an electroencephalogram shows brain activity to be most like wakefulness. The contents and biological purposes of dreams are not fully understood, though they have been a topic of speculation and interest throughout recorded history. The notion that dreams have a deep meaning behind them was greatly favoured by Psychiatrist Sigmund Freud who believed the interpretation of dreams were sources of insight into unconscious desires. Another Psychiatrist, Carl Jung, also believed that dreams held significant meaning.
Sleep terrors are a related disorder and both tend to run in families. SYMPTOMS: Sleepwalking is most often initiated during deep sleep but may occur in the lighter sleep stages or NREM, usually within a few hours of falling asleep, and the sleepwalker may be partially aroused
