In volunteering with the dog department I gave care by spending time by petting, playing with them in their doggie “condos” (space). In addition I gave them a few treats, walks and made sure their environment was clean. I feel that taking these actions not only helped the staff at the shelter to make their lives easier, but specifically the dogs themselves. I helped the dogs not only directly by giving them essentials and more that they should have, but also indirectly. By caring for them it helps improve their behavior and ensures that they will be ready to adopt to find a suitable and hopefully permanent home, where they will have a pleasurable lifestyle.
Why I support the use of dogs in the courtroom? Showing animals does have many importances. When showing animals people get the feeling of satisfaction and it can be very rewarding. It teaches one to become more confident in him or herself and to gain more responsibility. Having a show animal gives kids and adults the opportunity to feed and care for an animal. People also show for the fun of it.
Both chow-chows were excellent around people, including children, although both had issues with strange dogs. This is probably because we kept them away from most other dogs. The poet uses similes to make the tone more joyful. “Dogs barked and the children sprouted like dandelions on my lawn,” is a perfect example which compares the dogs and children to dandelions. It means that they appeared very quickly just like how dandelions grow really fast. Dandelions are also known to be happy flowers so this sets the mood in a more soothing and calming place.
