This quote caught my attention because as a child who grew up with an absent father, I felt this essay really got to the heart of the problem that many children faces now a day. I was lucky in knowing my father's decision not to have anything to do with me growing up was because he resented paying support. I wish I could believe parents left for altruistic reasons, but I think those are just excuses. If they really feared screwing up their kids they could take classes, they could learn to be parents, take anger management classes. Simply, they cannot be arsed to bother.
These concerns were rooted in the fact that most of the parents never experienced this type of freedom at their age and didn’t know how to empathize with their children anymore. Some parents ignore to teach their children when they were young. It cause many children don’t care their behavior and they will get the wrong worldview. I like this book because that is a good advice for children and parents, it can help parents teach their children keep a good behavior when they were young. How to listening to the other people, that is a serious problem for children, especially for parents. Now, more and more children don’t like to listen to the other people.
The parents usually do not socialize with other parents because they usually receive negative comments towards their child. Parents who anti-socialize usually channel that aggression to their spouse which results in violent arguments. Schools as well as teachers are also responsible on placing kids with ADHD in an environment where they can perform their best. This is not to segregate the children but to place them in an environment where they can learn their best. Also, if the child does not perform at his/her best, it greatly reduces the self-esteem not only of the child but the parents as well.
As adolescents start to gain independence, understand relationships that work and do not work make it hard for parents to let them grow, but as the adolescent sees it, parents are trying to keep them from self-expression and trying to figure out how they fit into the world around them (Bass, 2009). Media does not help adolescents acknowledge success since the media portrays physical appearance as perfection and possessions as riches causing complicated issues among adolescents (Bass, 2009). As an adult we have all gone through angry days as a teen, but the one thing the author Lyman Bass (2009) explains in the article “Adolescent Anger Management” there are signs that are beyond usual. These signs are when adolescents become defiant by the request of others, is mean to parents and other adults who hold some authority. Another signs are adolescents who are loners, depressed, trouble with expressing emotions, have few friends, and certain events trigger them into violent behaviors.
The first reason the grading policy should not be changed is students/parents would not know their exact grade. If a teenager is in care, this can be different because they haven’t been taught to deal with their emotions very well; there has been no one there to help them get through so they still act younger than they are. Emotionally, nature tells us that almost every teenager will have a rise in sexual hormones causing emotions to rocket and this cannot be help or affected by anything that may have happened to them. I always feel that unless you are learning something from young people then you’re not really working with them. Unfortunately, so many adults do not understand that young people have their are their own culture and discriminate against them accordingly without giving them a real chance to change people’s perceptions this again is one of my aims in working with these disaffected young
Parent's have their influence on teens to a great extent and the result of this bad influence is alcoholic teens following the principle, like parents, like children.In recent years it's known that people who have/had alcoholic parents are more likely to develop the diorder themselves. Most teens try alcohol for the first time at home and that is where the parents can be held responsible.
