When Martin Luther King gave his speech on August 28, 1963, he probably had no idea how truly significant the impact of his words would have on future generations. His first sentence set the stage for what would indeed be “The greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation." Kings uses of poetic and rhetorical devices are quite evident as you listen to his passion for freedom and equality delivered in this historic speech. Repetition is one of the devices used at various times during his speech. “Go back to” and “Let freedom ring” are some examples of frequently repeated phrases.
For example: A Service user cannot understand a menu when It is present in a list form , so we could help them make their choice by getting images of meals they would be presented with to eat. Also try to explain the importance of a healthy diet. If the dilemma was to be a reoccurrence or become a bigger issue at meal times, it would be a good idea to report it to the NIC or the service users case manager to then discuss other options available with the chef. 2. Each service user is different and they all like/ dislike different foods.
To have the self-control and respect to just walk away from someone who just spit on you, is a skill that not many people have. I know from myself that I would never have been able to do that. If I were in Atticus’ place I would probably have spit Bob in the face. “It’s never an insult to be called what somebody thinks is a bad name. It just shows how immature they are.
Martin Luther King Jr. helped shape the society we live today and continues to have an influence on civil rights reforms today. Many philanthropic groups have formed to carry out the visions inspired by Martin Luther King Jr. such as The King Center, NAACP and the National Civil Rights Museum. I believe that Martin Luther King and the Civil Rights Movement represented a positive social change on American society today. Without them, society today would not be what it is today; People would not be able to walk proud and live in peace and equality and be happy with who they were regardless of race. While I still feel that society has a long way to go in regards to discrimination of race I feel that we have also come a long way.
Madaser Saleem Blacks in History Final Exam 3) In their brief, first meeting, Einstein and Robeson discovered they shared not only a passion for music but a hatred of fascism. Although they all use different voices, they are all able to manipulate their audience into reacting to their speeches and carrying out the demands of the speaker in terms of change and advocacy. Distinctive voices are used to address societal concerns, especially about the environment. Severn Suzuki’s speech addressed the Plenary Session on the Earths summit, and many times throughout her speech, her distinctive voice, of a child and environmentalist can be heard. For example, throughout her speech, Suzuki uses anaphora in the phrase “I am only a child”. The repetition of this quote expresses her child’s voice, and associates with the parents in the listeners, enabling a common ground where the audience can understand the viewpoint of the speaker.
The rhetorical triangle was used when distinguishing between the audience, the issue, and the speaker. In the triangle, the speaker usually found ways to make himself sound credible and trustworthy. The speaker also strived to show their credibility by making an impression on an audience. In order to accomplish this, the speaker must be familiar with his audience and make the appropriate appeals to that audience to get their attention. This was important because without the interest of the audience, the point you were trying to get across was nearly useless.
So we have a chance to succeed in society because to succeed you need to have knowledge of certain things. And the way of attaining that knowledge is through reading and writing. I don’t believe that reading and writing is the only way of attaining that knowledge though because you can be literate without being able to read and write. To be literate, I feel, is to have the ability to have a conversation and be able to relate the information with past experiences of the words you hear coming from the person’s mouth. To me literacy is our gateway to socialization.
Although many people may not like natural food because it do not have not flavor, natural food does provide enough nutrients, so people can have more energy in their daily life performance.
