We could not have Kept History without Canadian Talent Throughout the years, Canada has overcome many fears, faults, victories, battles, hardships and countries. Not only did the world come to know Canada as the great peacemaker, but also through Canadian broadcasting. The CBC and NFB helped preserve the identity of French-Canadians not only in broadcasting works but also in forming the way the culture itself is preserved. French-Canadians play a big part as well. It all started in 1929, the Royal Commission on Broadcasting (the Aird Commission) was known to ensure that Canada's cultural identity is reflected in the radio programming available to Canadians.
Canada showed how independent of a country it is during WWI, after WWI, during WWII, and after WWII which was the post war. World War I was the main key source that caused Canada to grow drastically and be more independent than ever before. Canada’s soldiers made huge contributions and turned out to be a successful fighting force in the whole war. They went from being totally disrespected and deemed weak to gaining great respect and becoming the allies. They were thrown into the front of the most important and most difficult battles, and were clearly discerned from other British and Commonwealth troops
Expression of Nationalism Nationalism is a feeling that people have of being loyal to and proud of their country often with the belief that it is better and more important than other countries, or a desire by a large group of people (such as people who share the same history, culture, language, etc.) to form a separate and independent nation of their own. Nationalism can be expressed in a variety of ways and at a variety of levels. The Quebecois and the First Nations of Canada express their nationalism through politics, national days (culture), and language. Quebec independence debates are an example of expression of nationalism.

According to Robert Pastor, the head professor of international relations at Emory University, trade between the United States and Canada has historically been high. Writing about the North American Free Trade Agreement’s (NAFTA) impact international trade in Canada, Pastor writes, “Although two-way trade between Canada and the United States had always been high, it had stagnated for the decade before the Free Trade Agreement; then it doubled” (Pastor 70). After signing NAFTA, Canada experienced a major boom in the economy.
The 1920’s was the decade for women’s advancement in Canada. More and more women were becoming socially active and coming together to create a stronger voice. They were becoming more independent and free despite of societal criticism. This decade made people change the perspective of women because of their exemplary achievements. The 1920s roared because the “roar” of “The Roaring Twenties” was defined by the development of women’s rights and prosperity that shaped the society of today.
One could argue that this was a positive choice for the Canadian Government for many different reasons. First of all, Canada was part of the Triple Entente so they felt obliged to provided soldiers for their Allied countries. Secondly, The Canadian Government could have felt that the extra support on the battlefield would help bring the war to an end sooner.
