He mention what is the president and public want from gun control laws even the public think all new government laws will not work to reduce the illegal used of gun. I agree with Wilson criticism of gun control legislation in same time I agree with the public of the effective of the new laws. Wilson tries to propose some solutions of illegal gun and should control and ban the use of these guns. Wilson has some ideas and major actions to solve gun control debate. He mentions the relating between shrinking the stock of legally purchased guns and people self defend.
In America they need to create better safety gun controls. They should have a smart gun, which the gun only fires in the hands of its owner which have a companion watch on. If a person doesn’t have the companion watch those guns would not be allowed to fire. As gun control is such a controversial topic that leads to arguments of whether it should be legalized or not, the idea that we would not be able to defend ourselves, should the need arise, is a horrific nightmare and almost a terrible reality. Legalizing gun control will only further the pain caused to our country through the many instances that have occurred in the past and recently.
Assault Weapons Ban I am against the idea of banning assault weapons. I wouldn’t have voted for it. I read the San Francisco Chronicles articles on this matter. In the article Senate Charles Grassley (R of Iowa) made a good point. He mentioned how Feinstein’s previous ban did not prevent, control or stop the Columbine School massacre.
Banning Assault Rifles and High Capacity Magazines Would Be Pointless Benjamin Franklin, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States of America said, "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety,” (“Benjamin Franklin”) Today there are US politicians who are in support of gun control legislature in an endeavor to protect citizens from the injuries and death that could hypothetically come from so called assault rifles and high capacity magazines. However, gun control laws are ineffective in preventing from heinous and violent activity, and have never worked. In a negative affect can actually increase gun related crime. Criminals by nature do not respect laws, so it would
The law gives citizens too much freedom when it comes to using deadly force and just isn’t descriptive enough on the fact that the point of the law should be to defend yourself. It gives people the rights to shoot first and ask questions later, and many times its hard to prove or often not proven at all that the victim was threatening the defender in the first place. Deadly force should be used as a last resort; after all other options have been exhausted. This law has caused people to act in such ways where deadly force could have been avoided. The doctrine only requires one to believe or imagine they are in danger.
The say that what is a good idea is not the blanket ban of guns, which is unconstitutional because of new meaning of the second amendment, but rather a continuation of the current limits of guns and gun owners. It may not be “constitutional” for the government to put a complete ban on weapons, but it is proper for it to enact stronger restrictions to keep the rather terrifying weapons away from the people who cannot be trusted with a knife, much less than that of a
It is goes a step further to make those type of magazines illegal to own, and does not allow them to be grandfathered as with weapons allowed. Many gun owners will be required by law to register their weapons with the federal government under the National Firearms Act. Opposite of the 1994 AWB, the new will dictates that upon death of the registered owners of the weapon(s), the weapon(s) must be forfeited to the government, and can not be passed on. This has brought up more debate about weapons considered to be of value to the families for reason of sentiment, or
Therefore, gun control should not be enforced, because this country has a constitutional right to bear arms and gun control will not stop the violence in this great nation. This great country was born on trust and certain rights that have been given to the citizens. When the fore fathers wrote the Constitution and then the Bill of Rights, they thought that citizens should be able to protect themselves from criminals and other attacks. The men who founded this nation knew that guns would be important “to preserve liberty; it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms…” (Preface 1). He knew that the right to bear
Abortion in American politics has been a major issue for decades. The reason why it has been a major issue is because of the political parties and their unwillingness to come to a compromise. The Democrats, whom are mostly liberal, say that abortion is a civil right and the Republican, whom are mostly conservative, say that abortion should be illegal. Citizens, whom elect these representatives, are not very polarization and their stances change according to the situation at hand. We can say that “In America today there is a disconnect between an unrepresentative political class and the citizenry it purports to represent” (Fiorina 2009, p. xix).
America and the Right to Bear Arms COM323: Persuasion and Argumentation December 3, 2012 The issue of gun control and gun laws is one of great disagreement between political parties, state and federal government, and even between neighbors and family members. There are groups that believe violent crime will decrease with the passing of stricter gun laws, which would prohibit the ownership of dangerous weapons. However, the fact of the matter remains that guns do not kill people; other people are responsible for the guns they use to hurt or kill other people. Responsible gun ownership, just like responsible operation and use of any dangerous equipment, including cars, heavy machinery and even kitchen knives, is the only thing that will limit or contain the danger of using such a weapon. When the founding fathers of our young nation debated certain inalienable rights, one leading figure eloquently stated the following: “Firearms stand next in importance to the constitution itself.
