“Why I Want To Go To College” Jimmy Dean once said “I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.” There are many obstacles in the world that will lead you to a place where you wouldn’t want to be. These days without an education you can’t get nowhere in life. Furthering your education should be the most important thing that comes to your mind when you think about life after high school. Going to college is a big step in my life, more to say in anyone’s life. I think going to college will be a big step and major accomplishment in my life because it marks the start of a new beginning. College is going to teach me life skills that are needed to purse in my career and my future as an educator. Unlike high school, college teaches and helps strengthen skills in order to survive the college life and the world itself. College is the main teacher for skills such as time management, discipline, responsibility, etc. I think college will help me to not depend on others, but to rely on myself. I know when I go to college I won’t have my family to baby me up and hold my hand every step of the way. I have to make wise decisions and hopefully they will benefit me in the long run. In college I also will learn how to manage my time with my social and academic life. If I waste time, then I am throwing my life away. Even though I grew up knowing right from wrong, college is going to put it to the test, but I know with the Lord on my side I can fight temptation. All my life I wanted to be an elementary school teacher. Becoming a teacher requires almost four or more years of education. I want to be an educator because I want to take the same time that my teachers did with me to help educate someone else to better their future.
