Shindler and Goeth. The performance by Goeth really shows what a real Nazi acted like back then. The film is also very graphic and I like that it has a beauty mixed with its gruesome side. Shindler really was a great character because he was funny, mysterious, flirtatious, but he had a darker side that he showed superficially. Gattaca was the best in terms of entertainment.
Reading further into Mr. King’s essay, I was intrigued by the notion that a horror movie might actually have a role to play in civilized society. As Mr. King puts it, “like a sick joke, [the mythic horror movie] has a dirty job to do.” It allows us to fantasize, lets our basic instincts free and “appeals to all that is worst
What is greater than a good movie? I am a movie fan. I enjoy watching especially comedies. Few weeks ago i watched a movie called “Knocked Up”. It was so great that i went after some days with my girlfriend to the cinema and watched it again.
Tim Burton is an amazing story writer and director who brings real life actions to his films. He really lets you see the beautiful things in something so dark and creepy. Burton’s actions like bullying and judging people for what they look like on the outside and also what they are able to do. He reveals in his film that judging people and bullying can really hurt someone utilizing close ups and lighting to really show expressions on people’s faces when they meet Edward those two cinematic techniques also show what people feel when something happens in Edward Scissorhands.Tim Burton is an amazing story writer and director who brings real life actions to his films. Good morning/afternoon teachers and fellow students, Bowling for columbine is a Michael Moore documentary that shows the danger of guns and gun violence in America, and expresses the importance and requirement of changing gun laws. Michael Moore is able to effectively illustrate his message by controlling various film techniques. For example his assortment of interviewees, music and editing techniques are intended to influence the audience to accept his reality. Another text that explores the need for gun laws in America is Barrack Obama's Speech made after Congress rejected his assaults weapons ban. In his speech, Obama uses many language techniques to convince Americans to stand up to their representatives to tighten gun laws.
By definition an honorable suicide is a process whereby a person commits suicide to escape the shame of an immoral action. In my opinion, the issue was the controversial incest aspect of remaking the film. American film goers gravitate towards action packed thrillers, horror or murder films, and on some occasions success is found in gore or torture pieces. Lee’s remake of South Korean and Japanese Classic don’t appeal to our society’s ideology. Consanguinity is the challenge and key issue that imitates the entire plot of the film.
His dependence on fate benefitted him as he defeated both Grendel and Grendel’s mother. There is also a presence of a supernatural essence in Star Wars. Obi-Wan Kenobi preaches the importance of using the force to his followers, and more directly to Luke Skywalker. The force directly relates to fate as it is the derivation of the heroes’ power in Star Wars. Like Beowulf depended on fate in his expeditions, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke depended on the force in Star Wars to battle the Galactic Empire.
When I say Jim Carrey what films spring to your tongue? The Grinch, dumb and dumber, Ace Ventura? Maybe even a series of unfortunate events? I personally asosiate these films with an annoying, melodramatic actor, who to be honest put me off ever wanting to press the little button on the left of my remote. Its hard to say this but, I lara ferguson actually enjoyed a Jim carrey film!
Throughout the journeys and experiences of Billy Pilgrim, Vonnegut incorporates science fiction and bizarre yet logical narrative structure into the novel as forms of escapism from the atrocities of the war. Time travel is Billy’s therapy and his stories are his delusions. Billy is “unstuck in time”, and has a difficult time dealing with death and destruction. However, Billy is not Vonnegut. As Vonnegut states, he is “not overjoyed” with Billy’s belief in the view of Tralfamadorians meaning that death is inevitable, whether war is the cause or not, life goes on, and the birds keep chirping
I love Daniel Day-Lewis and his superb acting but I am not a big fan of Winona Ryder and they unfortunately cancel each other out to make a passable movie. As for representing the Salem Witch Trials, it seemed to stick with the story even though it had to dramatize and add love triangles to make sure the audience does not fall asleep. I learned much about the Salem Witch Trials, such as, that a man was hanged and not just women, and that another was pressed with stones until he died. I would consider it good history because it gives you the events and in order of which they happened. I would hope after seeing this film that the audience was intrigued with the lies, deceit, and hysteria that it showed and will go out and do their own research and not take any Hollywood historical film at face value.
