Their enticing sexuality, he believes, tempts men to behave in ways they would otherwise not. A visit to the “flophouse” (a cheap hotel, or brothel) is enough of women for George, and he has no desire for a female companion or wife. Curley’s wife, the only woman to appear in Of Mice and Men, seems initially to support George’s view of marriage. Dissatisfied with her marriage to a brutish man and bored with life on the ranch, she is constantly looking for excitement or trouble. In one of her more revealing moments, she threatens to have the black stable-hand lynched if he complains about her to the boss.
She feels as though she has ownership of him simply because he chose to give his love to her in the beginning of their relationship. At one point she begins to tell him exactly how she wants him to look for her, having no concern of what he wanted for himself. Once her anger takes over there is really nothing that can stop her. Jealousy can be a very dangerous thing and when beauty is involved people seem to feel entitled. In some cases people are used in relationships.
He has given us an immortal soul and through the gifts of intelligence and reason enables us to understand the order of things established in his creation. God has also given us a free will to seek and love what is true, good, and beautiful. Examples are Mark 7:15 and Romans 12:2. God has plans for us all. His plan for each person on earth is for us to prosper that is to have the most amazing life possible on earth.
Well in keeping to herself she met a boy that she thought was the best thing ever. He was one of those boys who tell you what you want to hear for only so long. In my opinion he was a boy that knew her weaknesses and did what he knew she wanted just to get her where he wanted her to be. In any case she fell head over heels for him, and in return he changed everything about her and who she was. she went from a girl who was against puttin in contacts because she didnt want to hurt her eye to wearing contacts of every color.
Also I find it ironic that it isn’t until after she is fully diagnosed that her family wants to send her away for an education to a special school. It is almost as if saying now that she has a label we must label her and send her away where they can help her. I can’t help but wonder if her own family could have helped her just the same, especially since they had already been doing so. One could pick out many other instances of irony in this story; however I don’t want to give everything away. This was a wonderfully performed and put together work, one that definitely needed to be relived and who better then our very own
Alex figured if she thinks im good looking mabey she will love me tonight. And sarah figured if she could avoid love it would go away and all guys were jerks. In the end they both relize there ways of logic towards love were off. So due to those common mistakes many individuals lack the ability to go out and find that special one. They just sit back and watch as another man who will mistreat that girl come in and ruin all hope.
Sarai had her eyes on someone else she had always loved her other half brother Abram. Abram however, didn’t really see Sarai as a young woman but as a child. Abram only saw Sarai as a little girl who always followed him and had eyes that adored him very much. Sarai only wished that she could be noticed by Abram and that he wouldn’t see her as a little girl but as a young woman that she is. Abram never thought that Sarai would have any interest in him anyway she was very young and beautiful and he was already in his forties what girl would want to be with someone as old as him.
Maggie knows she deserves the quilts made by her grandmother and aunt far more than Dee does but of course Dee thinks that everything is about her and that she should have what she wants. Maggie probably thinks that Dee will get the quilts because she had seemed to be Mama’s favorite, but not this time. Like Mama says, “This was Maggie’s portion.” Maggie deserves them way more than Dee. It is like they are back in church where once she would give Dee her “slightest whim,” she now refuses. After the fire it left Maggie with scars on the inside and out and that is why she acts so shy and timid throughout her
It may be because I look and act so much like her and she feels competition for daddy’s attention. There’s no competition because I know I am his favorite girl. That was my life til the monster took it away. I thought the movie “The Walking Dead” was so stupid until I was given the staring
She became frightened that her beauty might be too tempting. So she would do things such as rubbing pepper on her face to make it all blotchy and red to make herself look less pretty. Rose’s parents were very poor so she was always trying to support them. Her parents only wanted one thing from her and that was to get married but she just wouldn’t. Her love for Jesus was too great and every time someone talked about him she would just sparkle.
