The negative impacts that cigarette bears are not equal with the benefits offered. Despite damaging health, cigarette is threatening to environment and economy as well. Therefore, government should restrict cigarette consumption for some considerations. First, cigarette harms people’s health with several cases. It is sole legal product that kills a third till a half of its consumers. Some people claim that consuming cigarette can make their body and mind feel fresh and relax. In fact, smoking habits cause at least 30 diseases on people’s body, such as cancer, bareness, hypertension, and many others. Second, cigarette causes environmental damages. Average people think that there will be no impacts of smoking on their environment. However, more than 4500 world conflagrations are caused by ineptly thrown stub of cigarettes. In addition, the chemical substances of cigarette can cause environmental contamination. Third, cigarette also bears economic problems. There is an assumption says that Indonesia will be poorer if cigarette is restricted. It is because cigarette has given subsistence for its employments either as farmers or laborers. Nevertheless, the fact is that they get the lowest salary than other laborers. Besides, the cost paid by government for diseases caused by cigarette is far bigger than its tax income. From these negative impacts, either on people’s health, environment or economy, it is expected for society to increase their awareness toward several disadvantages caused by cigarette. It becomes our duty to solve these problems together with environmental organization, researchers, and cigarette factory itself so that there will be no the aggrieved sides.
