Abortion is the termination of pregnancy before the fetus is viable (Fremgen, 2012There are two types of abortions, a spontaneous abortion and an induced abortion. A spontaneous abortion is one that occurs naturally, usually referred to as a miscarriage. An induced abortion is one that is caused by artificial means such as medication or a surgical procedure to destroy the fetus (Fremgen, 2012). The induced abortion is where the controversy and ethical issues arrive. Pro-Choice advocates contend that choosing abortion is a right of a woman that should not be limited by the government or religious authority (Abortion ProCon.org.).
Abortion- A Woman’s Divine Right Tameka A. Severson SOC 120 Introduction to Ethics & Social Responsibility Instructor: Theodore Framan April 16, 2012 The topic of abortion is one of the most controversial of our times. The fight between pro-life and pro-choice supporters has been long and brutal. This is because individuals can be a bit “close minded” and refuse to view any other beliefs or ideas other than their own. Although I support the act of abortion, when it all boils down, it is a right and the circumstance at hand really depends on the particular individual. Abortion is defined as the termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo prior to viability.
Which means the child should have its own choice to descided how he choses to live and make his own happiness and have the right to even be alive to be able to be happy. If you have an abortion, you are taking away the baby’s right. Your baby has the right to find its own happiness. It should not be a woman’s choice to have an abortion because it was the woman’s choice to have sex in the first place. If they are going to make that decision to have sex, they are making the decision to accept the consequences of that choice.
It directly opposes human rights. Abortion should not be used as a matter of contraceptive either. It can have harmful effects on the mother later in life and can leave damage to the body. It can cause a woman to have other complications during pregnancies later in life. In addition to that there are studies that prove that breast cancer is heightened in women who had an abortion earlier in life.
They believed that abortions were okay even though they knew they were being put in situations in which there was a possibility of them having multiple fetuses. The way the parents in the stories dealt with their conflict were by the style of problem solving. The parents felt by eliminating the baby, they would be eliminating any future problems. The topic of abortions is very controversial, some people believe they are acceptable while others think it is purely evil and wrong. I am on the fence about abortions.
The book for itself told me that it was going to be about abortion and indeed there were going to a lot of trouble. But overall the book was good and informed me a lot about the illegal abortions women’s were having back then. Honestly, the women’s who were getting the abortion were tired of having babies and we not capable of caring for another child. Kaplan’s thesis was that women had the right to know about abortion
My World View Abortion is a topic that has been debated for centuries. Many people believe that it is a woman’s prerogative to terminate her pregnancy. These people also say that it is a violation of her rights to take that option away. Others argue that a fetus is a defenseless being that deserves a chance to live. Attacking an individual who has no means to defend them self is wrong, which is why I strongly oppose abortion.
The relgious aspects of abortion do not go along with Pro-Choice. Religons like Catholics or Protestants believe that a fetus is a person from conception (West Encyclopedia of American Law 3). So to them abortion goes against the Sixth Commandment of the Bible, "Thou shalt not kill" (ProCon 2). Many people do not agree with late term abortions, such as in the second and third trimester, made by reasons of convenience (Saad 1). By this time the baby can surely feel pain.
In some cases, parental involvement may lead to added pressure from parents to get abortions. (Rockler-Gladen, 2007)The fact that there is a Parental Notification law is outrageous and entirely unconstitutional. Along with the Parental Notification law, the Partial Abortion ban is unconstitutional in multiple ways as well. The ban has been found to be an unconstitutional violation of established case law pertaining to specific abortion procedures due to its vague language and lack of a health exception to protect the woman’s well-being. If a women needs an abortion in the late trimesters of her birth, this ban would prevent her from being able to do so.
Abortion Killing an unborn child is a very unnecessary decision; under certain circumstances it is allowed. The unborn child did not ask to be here just for you to not give the unborn child a chance. If you were raped then abortion should be an option. For example, say you are 16 and you have an 18 year old boyfriend and you end up pregnant. You did that to yourself, you deserve that.
