New drivers already have a hard time on the road because they have just gotten their license and do not know how to drive as well. Adding cell phones would just create more of a problem for them which ends up creating more car crashes. As a citizen, we must not only protect our own lives but try to keep other citizens safe as well. Banning the use of cell phones while driving in the United States would help keep the citizens safe and help us reach our goal of create a good community. The banishment would keep our citizens safe from the harm of careless driving because of cell phones.
Now that you have identified it, what do you need to add to your own argument to convince your audience that this alternate position should be rejected in favor of your own position? The position that may cause my audience to think twice is that hands free devices are the answer to distracted driving. However I would remind them that anything that takes our undivided attention off the road is equally as bad as holding the phone in our hands. 12) Can you think of anything else that your audience might need in order to be persuaded by your argument? I think the original purpose of the image is to really get the point across that people should not text while driving. It is trying to get peoples attention to ask them “is a text really worth looking at while you are driving, it cannot wait?” So the creator is trying to argue to stay away from texting and driving because losing your life or causing an accident just because of a text is not worth it. Pathos As you take a look at this picture different types of emotions and feelings go through your head. The emotion that the picture itself portrays for people to see is pain. The way the car is smashed to together just shows how hard the two cars collided together.
Johnson gives statistics showing that talking on a cell phone is as dangerous as driving drunk. Moreover, she points out the increasing number of accidents caused by cell phone use. Her conclusion is that we need to personally decide not to use a cell phone while driving and that we need to educate our friends and family to give up using cell phones while driving too. I agree with Jones that cell phones are dangerous and that we should personally choose to not use one while driving; however, I’d go further than Jones by adding that we need to have laws that prohibit anyone from using cell phones in
Texting and driving Seydou Bocoum DeVry University I will be using to this correlation of facts and opinions to establish my argument of having strict laws against the use of mobile phone while driving. Texting has become one of the most dangerously addictive activities, which has not just targeted the general public but has become more common in professional drivers as well. There is 100% more of a chance for drivers [along with their passengers], to face fatal accidents, when texting is put into the equation. When there are laws put in place to prevent this activity, professional drivers will be more attentive in postponing such activities and stay safe. By the implementation of such laws, 6% of accidents caused by the use of mobile

Specific Purpose: Using a cell phone while driving is not only dangerous to you, but others on the road and is one of the top reasons today for car accidents. Attention Grabber: How many people here have texted while driving? I am like most people where I have texted while driving, but after I got into an accident a couple years back because I was distracted by texting, I rethought the level of importance of texting while driving. (show picture of my car) this is the result of what happened to me when I was texting on my way home from work a couple weeks ago.

Figure 2: This figure above also provided exceptional facts to the risks teens and young drivers are subject to when stepping behind the wheel of a motor vehicle with a cell phone. I don’t want to use these facts to scare people but to inform them that anything can happen to anyone and that no one is invincible. These small details may seem boring but if this paper can help change someone’s mind to stop using the phone while driving imagine how many lives alone one person can
In my opinion, drivers of automobiles should be prohibited from using all cellular phones!
