Why banning the use of cell phones while driving should be mandatory nationwide. GENERAL PURPOSE: to persuade SPECIFIC PURPOSE: Persuade my audience to realize the dangers of using a cell phone while driving. CENTRAL IDEA: Cell phones are an important part of life, however many accidents have been caused due to ignorance of people using their phones while driving. People must realize their responsibility towards the public while sitting behind the wheel. I. Introduction Cell phones are a very important part of person’s life, however to use a cell phone while driving can be very distracting and many accidents are caused nowadays due to this as due to the advancement of technology, there are so many more things that can be done with a phone. A. Enforcement of laws. B. Publicity drives against using a cell phone while driving. C. Safety of a life is of utmost priority and everything else will come later. II. Body of the Presentation A. The law will help greatly to control the use of cell phones while driving. 1. Drivers will follow the law to avoid tickets and driving license suspensions. B. Advertisement campaigns banning the use of phones while driving will inform drivers about the same. 1. The younger generation is addicted to their phones. They should be taught the dangers of using their phones while driving. 2. The advancement of technology is so great that carrying a phone is like carrying a mini computer. There are many temptations to see who is calling, who has posted a picture and who is sending a message that drivers can’t wait till they are parked to check their phones. C. There are many distractions on the road so drivers must see that that they are alert and safe. 1. Organize your time so that you can reach your destination well in advance so that you don’t have to rush. 2. Change your status on your phone to ‘DRIVING’ so that
