As you research the different pa programs you will realize that each program has different pre-requisite classes needed before applying (Many programs allow you to apply while some of these classes are in progress or that will be completed before matriculation). The more classes you take the more programs you are able to apply to and the better it looks as the application committee scours over the thousand applicants. I have to admit I was not excited about going back to school at the age of 30. Embarrassment and pride were a few reasons why. I went to a local junior college to take these required science classes. My goal was to get finished as quickly as possible so I loaded up with as many classes as possible. It is very important to receive high grades in these classes so I spent a lot of time studying and staying up late. This is a sacrifice, especially if you have a family, but going back to school only to get a bunch of C's is not going to make you an ideal applicant in most programs. WORK HARD FOR A's. Get all A's and explain in your eventual interview how hard you worked to achieve these grades while having so many other responsibilities!! The admission committee will appreciate your hard work and will feel comfortable that you will be able to handle the rigorous pa program. Remember: pa school is said to be very difficult and contains vast information so a big concern of admission committee's is accepting someone that will fail or not be able to keep up. Make this an emphasis that you have done what it takes and can handle everything reasonable thrown at
