This is the stage which is called the end of life stage. Some people at this stage may not be able to talk. Some old people give up on life at this stage because they be highly dependent on others, they be stuck in a care home, their family probably rarely comes to see them and they be in a lot of pain. Attitudes Once you turn older your attitude changes. It changes towards your life, your family and towards the society.
Fliers and newspaper ads are effective as well as word of mouth, and also contacting your local radio stations to help sponsor your business is a must. Make local churches and charities aware of your services, even if they don’t provide a medical service and send out information to food banks and utility assistance programs; anywhere low-income and uninsured people are likely to be. A great way to save money instead of costly advertising is to get some friends or relatives to volunteer by visiting different agencies to explain how opening a free clinic would benefit so many people. Although, this facility will provide quality, comprehensive medical care with the same dignity and confidentiality as a private sector does. It will serve as a non-profit organization to people who are trying to improve their lives but do not have medical insurance or the ability to pay for medical care.
The right to respect for private and family life - this means the right to live as a family. The right to dignity and being part of the community - this means you should get the care and support you need to have a good life. You should be able to join in with things in your community along with everyone else. Human rights are to help groups like councils, the police and hospitals protect you by making sure they respect your human rights. For government it means they should protect all of us from groups or individuals who would take away our rights.
Unit 204 - Introduction to duty of care in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings 1.1. Duty of care means that we must do everything we can to keep the people in our care safe from harm. 1.2. As care workers, we aim to help people live independently. That means encouraging them to make decisions for themselves.
It is also important to actively acknowledge the person’s strengths, passions and aspirations, and actively involve the family and friends, if the person wishes. It is important to acknowledge the needs and wishes of our service users, and ensure that these underpin the planning and delivery of their care that values the service users unique past, present and future individuality and recognizing and respecting the person’s role and contribution to family and wider society. As a health and social care worker it is our duty of care to provide all of the above and also keep individuals safe from harm or exploitation. It is good for all professionals and organizations to work together in partnership with each other and the individuals we all support. It enables individual's to recieve the care and support they need, in a person centered way and to be part of deciding the care that they will recieve. Person centered care is good pracitce and helps to ensure that the correct and agreed care and support is given to each individual. No individual is the a same and by having a person centered approach, it ensures that everyone is not treated the same, but in a way that respects their needs, wishes, preferences and values. Working to a person centered approach is essential in dementia care. It will help to maintain the individual's self-identity, self respect and dignity.
