Who eats Healthier? Males vs. Females Dr. Stacey Research Methods Observation Paper December 7, 2010 My observation paper was done on 4 of my family members, my grandparents and aunt and uncle. They were selected using opportunity sampling and I did not tell them I was conducting an observation. I observed them on days they went grocery shopping. Women are more likely to compare themselves with models. PROCEDURE I observed them making groceries from Walmart on a weekly basis. I told them I wanted to go with them because I needed some things from there also. I did not see everything they purchased, so I had to get their receipts to put the values of each item into my table. My table showed both females and both males and their purchases. On the first visit to the grocery store I told them I wanted to see who spends more money the men or women. I suggested that the women buy their items separate from the men so I could tally the purchases as best as I could. I
