Teenager Analysis “White Chocolate,” “Jared,”and “Goin’ Fishing” have something in common. These stories are all about troubled teens. In “White Chocolate,” Wally misses his dad and won’t talk to anyone one about it. This of course brings out violence and frustration. Next in the story “Jared” is about a boy who has his face burned and separates himself from the rest of the world. Then in the story “Goin' Fishing,” Lionel lost his family and all that he has left in his heart is rage. Wally is the main character in “White Chocolate,” by Robin Brancato and his parents are going through a rough divorce. His dad had left to Alaska and hasn’t written a single letter back to Wally. There he has a teacher named Ms. Loring, a kind teacher who tries to understand Wally. Wally is irritated by this and takes his rage out on her. Always disturbing the class and almost hitting her. This is very horrible to act because he is bottling up all his emotions, he becomes violent. And no one wants to be friends with a violent person. What he should do to rid himself of this his pain is actually talk to someone about them. It doesn’t matter who, as long as he speaks to them.In the story “Jared,” Jared solitudes himself from the world. He has is barbecuing one unfortunate night and spills gasoline over the fire. Thus causing him to burn half his face. This face obviously attracts a lot of attention. Yet the people don’t ask about what happen, they either stare or just ignore him. Then Jared won’t take the initiative to talk to them and he wears a hat so the don’t see his face. He goes into his “box” which is a spot in his mind where he feels safe, secure but the box also stinks. So, isn’t magnificent because it makes him be by himself. Then he gets the number of the girl he that he likes and is ecstatic. It’s the perfect relation ship! He can talk to her with out her seeing him. Then a tragedy happens, she wants
