China is getting better and better by the second. The infant mortality rate is decreasing, literacy and education increasing, life expectancy higher and basic necessities like food, water, and shelter more available. Many of the problems they had with population are starting to go away with some new restrictions the put up. Their population mass could create the big armies and armadas of china and turn them into a well oiled war machine are could hone the economic status of china probably both though. SS Gateway Day 4 The age of Imperialism made way for (and was even influenced by) some of the most prevalent inventions, ideas, and innovations in todays world. Imperialism as defined by historians is said to be “a policy of extending a country’s power and influence through diplomacy or military force.” Although this definition is held true to many examples of Imperialism, the actual causes of imperialism can be greater accredited to what is known is the Industrial Revolution. Without the Industrial Revolution and the ideas flowing into the world at the time; Imperialism may have been nothing but a word. The Industrial Revolution was essentially a mechanical and emotional means of progress for the world. The ability to grow coupled with the will to grow both directly influenced imperialism.
His nuclear deterrent foreign policy played a very large role in the Cold War, and is still effective today. Nuclear deterrent means if a country launches nuclear weapons against the United States, The United States would retaliate with its own nuclear strike (“Dwight D. Eisenhower” 304). In the end there would be no real winner, just total destruction. Eisenhower demonstrated this when he said “I would say a preventive war, if the words mean anything, is to wage some sort of quick police action in order that you might avoid a terrific cataclysm of destruction later.” (“Dwight D Eisenhower” 136). Knowing this, other countries will try to avoid total destruction instead of starting a nuclear war.

Equal rights are important to the U.S because it shows that everyone has the same rights including: black people, white people, Asian, men and woman, ect. A bad president would make the economy go down, not believe in equal rights and have a bad foreign policy. The best president in U.S history I believe is Abraham Lincoln.
(Fun Trivia) The cold war was a war of violent propaganda and a race of vast production of nuclear weapons. The United States was extra successful in producing nuclear weapons during the cold war because they had more military power, they also produced the main chemical element needed to make the radioactive nuclear weapons, and the United States had major government backing (money support) to produce theses nuclear weapons and delivery systems. Since the cold war was between these two countries, the question is: which country was more successful in production of nuclear weapons during the cold war? In this essay I will explain how the United States was more successful in the productions of nuclear weapons and how they managed to do this without actually going into a physical war.
They were able to gain things like corn and potatoes, but they also brought crops and trade products along with them to the Americas. They introduced horses as well as wheat and cotton. The expansion of trade to the Americas not only benefited Europe, but also benefited the New World by introducing trade crops that are still huge in America today. Without the discovery of these products, Europe’s economy would not have skyrocketed and they would not be as prominent a continent as they are today. The slave trade began around the mid-1600s with the European colonies that were built in the Americas.
These events caused what appears to be a strengthened Anglo-American relationship, and made it appear as ‘peaceful and harmonious’ however, there are other factors which must be considered by historians in order to solve this question. Speaking in terms of economics, it is likely that the relationship between the colonies and the mother country can be described as ‘peaceful and harmonious.’ Leading up to 1763, Britain had started to fully accelerate in the industrial revolution. This of course meant that Britain needed to Import lots of raw materials, and export a high quantity of manufactured goods. This was good for the American colonies, as it had a huge amount of raw material, and needed more manufactured goods, almost creating a perfect trade scenario between it and the mother country. In addition to this, the idea of mercantilism meant that American trade was protected by Britain, and this was advantageous as Britain was one of the strongest economic powers in the world at the time.
As a result, Joseph Nye, suggests that the most effective strategies in foreign policy today require a mix of hard and soft power resources, the ‘smart power’. Nye notes that smart power strategy denotes the ability to combine hard and soft power depending on whether hard or soft power would be more effective in a given situation. He states that many situations require soft power; however, in stopping North Korea's nuclear weapons program, for instance, hard power might be more effective than soft
In order for the United States to satisfy their need to maintain their spot as a world superpower, the desire for increasing the amount of military defense spending is at the top of the government’s list of priorities. One could argue that the United States’ extreme amount of military government spending is the result of the reputation of being the “peacekeeper” of the world or “the world’s police officer” due to the United States’ tendency of intervening with other nation’s problems or wars. Most if not all Americans would agree with the idea of being peacekeepers of the world; but none are aware of the real absurdity of the amount spent by the United States for the military. As of 2012, the amount for the Defense Spending Budget of the United States annually totaled almost 600 billion dollars. On a list of defense spending by country, the United States is ranked first or the highest amount spent.
