"When 'Goodbye' Is A Click Away" by Jackie Lee Thomas Newsweek My Turn, Dec 3, 2007 The thesis of the article is about Jackie trying out the possibilities of Internet dating but she then realized it was hopeless. It started out when she got out of an eighteen-year relationship. It was a clearly tough time for her. After she spent two years of being single, she began to feel lonely and thought she was ready to start dating again. Her sister suggested she try Internet dating which she was unsure but decided to go for it. So, she tried it out and gave all her best to talk and flirt around with people but there was a lack of communication. At first, she had many responses coming to her and she talked with people more. While later, they became less talkative with her. Then all of a sudden, they stopped talking anymore. Another thing, it was easy for her not to respond on the Internet because they never met in person nor spoke on phone. There was no connection whatsoever. She'd seen some people she didn't like or anything and simply clicked on to the next photo without any emotions. She had no luck of finding someone. As a result, she felt it was useless and decided to resign from Internet dating. Besides, she made some new friends that she can talk with through email. She continued to search for someone on computer, anything or anywhere but Internet dating. I enjoyed reading this article because I too went through the same type of experience. Only the difference is I was very young. I always dreamed of finding my "true love". Then someone mentioned about Internet dating in school which I never heard of. I was curious to try it out. Most men I had almost nothing in common with, or no attraction. And others, they were looking for a bed partner and nothing more! Some men would say anything I wanted to hear and lied about their ages and many things. It
