Robert Madril Thompson/7 Life skills 22 Feb. 2010 My Core Beliefs Although in present day there are many many bad things that happen in every day life. From drug use to stealing and even murdering, i think its still very important to have core beliefs. A core belief to me is a way of living that will never change no matter what the circumstance. One core belief that i have is to always try your hardest. I think this is the most important character you can have because it will push you through life and help you become a more reliable and better person.
Nick Saban has a plan for everything and he executes it. He has a detailed program for his players to follow. He keeps them focused all year long during the season and during the off season. He sets principles and values and gets people to buy into his way of thinking. He has high expectations from his players rather it is athletically, academically and personality.
Michael Jordan went on to attend college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was an all-star player. He went on t0 be drafted to the NBA. The NBA website states, “By acclamation, Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time”. He became known as “Air Jordan”, because he could jump very high and put the basketball in the net. Michael Jordan retired from the NBA in 1993 and came back to play in 1995 and retired again in 1999.
Dwayne Wade is my definition of a hero. You may know him from when he drives to the basket or pulls up a last second buzzer beater, but he’s a lot more than a basketball star. He’s a role model. Growing up, Dwayne had to deal with divorced parents. He lived with his mother until he was eight and then moved in with his dad.
Allen has the most wins in Kansas’s basketball history and has a big impact on players, students, and visitors who walk into a home basketball game. Allen Fieldhouse was named for him because of his coaching career and his influence on players and students at KU. The shirts that read: “Pay Heed to All Who Enter: Beware of the Phog,” have a meaning to those who know the legend. “Legend has it that the great coach’s spirit haunts KU’s opponents in his namesake,” says Carpenter about the influence the coach still has today on the people entering the field house. The field house is a major influence during the games.
During his first season with the university he was named Atlantic Coast Conference rookie of the Year for 1982. Being a freshman there, Michael got his ever-growing popularity when he scored the game-winning basket in the 1982 NCAA championship game against the Georgetown Hoyas. Because of this, for Michael’s sophomore and junior years of college, The Sporting News named him college player of the year for both years (4&5). During the summer of 1984, Jordan made his first appearance at the Olympic Games as a member of the U.S. Olympic basketball team. The team won the gold at the games that year, which were held in Los Angeles.
“ AH Kevin, what you thinking about”, asked my best friend Shawn. Shawn is the only reason why I come to school besides getting my education. He befriended me right from the beginning. He’s the quarterback of the football team and is pretty dumb but hey I love him. “Dude I’m stressed people are not taking me serious, I’m tired of being the laughing stalk of the school.
I love the thrill of ever game, every week, every season making an impact and actually having meaning and purpose. Utah, Boise State, and all of you other mid major conferences quit whining and man up. The way you do that is strengthen your schedule and stop playing an unimportant season. I have always loved the Cinderella story, but not to the point of jeopardizing the character of the college football nation. Until there is a playoff structure, the anticipation of the top 25 every year will keep me running wild with emotions of anger and thrills.
We were all taught that if we strive for what we seek, we eventually will succeed. The JROTC program showed me leadership, better communication skills, and being loyal and patriotic. Though it was a scary experience in the beginning, I eventually met my expectations. It also showed me that we sometimes think negatively about some things because we may not know where it might lead us. The quote, “Don’t let the fear of striking out, keep you from playing the game,” is what spurred me to continue in this program without fearing anything, until I was able to achieve success.
He is always well prepared for the competition and never looks scared. Whether facing the best team or the worst team in the league you can always expect Adrian Peterson to leave everything he has on the field. Adrian Peterson will never play down to his opponent’s level, but you can expect him to rise up when playing another talented opponent. Adrian is a team oriented player, during the season, in the offseason, at practice, during pregame, or during the big game his team mates have no problem asking for his advice, giving him their advice or congratulating him on a great play. Adrian was quoted saying “I am starting to realize that a lot of guys look up to me, older guys, and even younger guys, are asking me questions and ask me about how to handle situations.
