How Art Created Culture The function of art in society has been well-known to have many different advantages. Societies learn from art, they tell stories through art, they express ideas through art, and they create legends and icons through art. The power of visual human expression, in paintings, sculptures, and reliefs, moves individuals into thought and action. Even if one is not a visually creative mind, they are still inspired and influenced by the works of art that are commonly seen on a daily basis. The contents of the art, the color, style, and function, create feelings in the individual, create a belief structure, whether spiritual or intellectual.
In the beginning I was turned off by photography because I found the medium restricting that lacked diversity. But now, I have found that it is just as flexible as painting, sculpture or any other visual art form, if not more. Photography as a concept is greater than I or perhaps anyone can comprehend and I hope to send the rest of my life exploring it. 4. Explain the type or genre of photography that interests you and why.
This expression of emotion when observing art leads to better comprehension of the artwork and the artist’s emotions that he experienced and expressed while creating a particular piece of art. For this paper I am arguing that expression of emotions through feelings felt by an individual when viewing or hearing some form of art is what allows for an individual to have an aesthetic experience. There are different ways that emotions can be expressed, both through feelings and behavior. This may appear redundant at first glance, but one can feel something or have some type of experience completely to oneself in one’s mind without the need to have those emotions expressed physically through one’s behavior. Expression and how it is defined conforms to many different contexts.
Tattoos have been a cultural relevance in history, religion, and art. Even though tattoos are not always readily accepted by some people in today’s society, they have always been a means to express ones love for art. Tradition and cultural meaning are not the only reasons people receive tattoos. Often times it is the allure of the exotic and outrageous that drives one to the limits of the unknown. Tattoos should be accepted due to their significance in certain cultural traditions.

Art gives ideas of how people can change or add new ideas to their dances and performances which is based on their cultural background and how art greatly impacts culture. Art has many interpretations to many people. It’s like that saying “A picture is worth a thousand words”. Everyone has their own idea of what they think the picture means and exhibits to them. This reminds of me of all the paintings and sculptures I saw in the Zimmerli art museum and how the Russian and European art influenced what
Personally, mine has been drawing on a piece of paper with just a pencil and an eraser. I wouldn’t say that my definition of art has made me rethink of the definition; it has given me the opportunity to open my mind even more and see the bigger picture. It has shown me that there is more to art than meets the eye, to keep an open mind and try to see what the artist is trying to say. I will admit Da Vinci, Picasso and Kincade have been my favorite painters, Chihuly is now a favorite when it becomes to glass blowing. There are so many different artists to choose from to discuss about.
This was their culture. Without their art, regardless the simplicity, we would be without knowledge of the very existence of these people, much less the activities of their everyday life. Art has been, and is today, an imperative tool in the preservation and the communication of a culture. The messages embedded in art can vary greatly from one culture to another, both historically and geographically. The medium, style, and tone used can and does change from one culture to another.

There was a time when tattoos and piercings were, by many people, considered offensive as well as disgusting.
