They offer a lot of things like all the freedom and good government which other countries don’t offer. Americans are proud of all the qualities they provide for us. Freedom is a tremendous thing that America has to offer us. We are basically entitled to do what you will (legally intended). With freedom you don’t need to follow laws that you think are just plane out crazy, you can challenge the laws, but if you were
The practice of multiculturalism gives uniqueness and an essential component to benefit the country such as good public relationship. Apparently, multiculturalism is not possible without the participation and engagement of the people. Therefore, the practice of multiculturalism must be actively advocated and enhanced among the community. The world is changing rapidly, and it is very important for Americans to accept multiculturalism as an irreversible part of the United States. The country has a lot of different cultures.
What It Means to Me to Be an American I have always thought the term “American” was refreshing. I do so because I loved the fact that one word can describe so much and have so many meanings. People often throw the word around without really thinking of what it truly means to be an American. It’s not as simple as most people believe it to be. To me the word “American” has always been connected to the words freedom and responsibility.
This belief is in contrast to other cultures that put more into knowing the entirety of all things involved, rather than just the time to show up. The last things to be examined are equality and individuality/ privacy. Equality is the belief that every individual is an equal. Individuality is also used interchangeably with freedom. It is thought that personal initiative is one of the best qualities that the American people possess.
Many of their constitutional rights have been denied do to the fact of their sexual orientation. They have been treated like second class citizens as if they are invisible. The constitution sates that all American citizens are to be treated equally and with the same rights. So why are gays outcast by so many including most states and our government? There no different than your neighbors next door.
How can we be “Land of Free” if we have the second highest incarceration rates? I don’t want to affiliate myself with the stigma of saying one thing and doing another. I live in this country, but I am an individual and I would rather be referred to as Michael than be considered one in the same as America. Everything about America is based off of what people think of the “Americans”. People can be whoever they want.
Bilingualism in America essay: Should, English be the only language? That is a question that is argued over frequently, especially in the United States. Hayakawa supports that English being declared our official language can do no harm, stating this, “While it is certainly true that our love of freedom and our devotion to democratic principles help to unite and give us a mutual purpose, it is English, our common language, that enables us to discuss our views and allows us to maintain a well informed electorate” (Hayakawa 389). If any person is knowledgeable enough to talk on bilingualism it would be Hayakawa, his track record and life events speak for themselves. Hayakawa is a well educated teacher of linguistics, an author on language theory books and a leader in the effort to make English the official language of the United States.
Social rights are the right to health care, education, and other social benefits. America is known as the land the “free” but if you were convicted of a felony and have served your time you no longer have political rights. This is among many examples of Americans being denied their human rights. By denying citizens their political rights leaves no doubt that there are human right violations in America. America has more freedom offered here than in many other countries but that doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t violating human rights here in America as well in other countries.
In U.S every citizen is entitled to their freedoms. We live in a society where everyone is allowed to speak their mind. America is known for its liberty and democracy worldwide. One of the most important rights that the citizens have is the right to vote; by voting people have the right to choose their
Am I Proud of My Country? There are many reasons why I am so proud of my country America. It is almost impossible to list all of the reasons, but I am very delighted to list some of those reasons. America is a country where we can bare arms; our second amendment still is alive and well. The fact that I can go to a public place to express my opinion, and openly criticize the government is one of the reasons I love it.
