Of course you’re going to get teased, picked on, and called stupid. Not saying it’s right, but you control your own destiny. Meaning you control the work you do because you do it and turn it in. Also being over age for their classes can result in dropping out. Studies show that students who are over-age for their class was held back a grade level.
Some people deserve a second chance, but it shouldn’t be given to someone that doesn’t show effort towards school. If someone is failing a class you can’t always blame the student. You have to put in perspective that the teacher could be bad at teaching,or perhaps the student missed a lot of class due to being sick,or maybe the class is just too hard. So however, handing out extra credit could be tolerable to the students that show effort, and not to the students who mess around in class. One reason a student should receive extra credit to pass, is that they have trouble with that one specific subject.
They stress day and night over these overrated tests, like previously stated channeling out the imagination, curiosity and good will. Besides being an imprecise measure for students, they use them to judge a teacher’s performance as well, essentially used to either reward or punish them. Standardized test are not helping us very much right now. In conclusion, the usage of standardized tests should be discontinued or by the very least lessened. These tests are not helping people, it’s initially having a negative effect on students and teachers.
Flunking students can be used as a positive tool by our education system. The consequence of flunking and holding students back alone can be used to motivate and encourage students to put full effort into class work. Most students fear flunking only because they’re afraid of what friends, peers and society will say or think about them; this is all wrong, the real fear should be failing and not being
1. What are the most likely reasons that children in middle school are absent or tardy? In my opinion, chilldren in middle shool can be absent for the several reasons. Firstly, they can be not disciplined enough and don't take seriously their school responsibilities. Secondly, some kids could be lacking motivation for the study and thus would neglect their opportunity for learning and school rules at the same time.
When a student is not trying to do well in a subject, or in school altogether, there is nothing anyone around them can do to change that; it must be the student’s desire and decision to turn things around, and do the best they can. There are some cases when teachers willing allow a student to fail a class. The teacher chooses not to follow-up with the student, to ensure they understand the material and attain the grades necessary to pass the class. The majority of the students who are falling behind will not even talk to the teacher about their problem. This can be a result of laziness or even shame.
I also believe that mainly, students are at fault for this failure. The teachers are the easy ones to blame. They are thought to be responsible for the students education, when the student has full control over what he/she decides to listen to, absorb, and work on. Teacher’s aren’t baby sitters. They are there to do their job, and to make sure you walk out of the door with more knowledge than you did when you walked in.
Many teachers do not like “catching plagiarists and bringing them to academic justice.” As she states, it is not hard to just cite the author that originally had the information you are using (Bojar). Plagiarism is becoming a big problem in the school system. Many students do not understand what needs to be cited and what does not. The school system should teach students the proper way to cite, and they should teach them that copy and pasting is not writing a paper. According Bojar to students at the community college have a hard time juggling classes along with his or her family and a job.
He believed that people were ignorant and shouldn’t be allowed to rule themselves. For, without the proper knowledge, people make poor choices all the time. Look at Freedom. A good school in general, but in it students demonstrate poor decision making every day. Students get it fights, take drugs, drink alcohol, skip classes and do things that just don’t make sense.
I have come up with a few types of people i would like to talk to you about. These types are students are the really smart students. They usually do not have a social life because all they do is study all day. They know more then what they have been taught in class, in other words they are overachievers. The always do their best in every assignment that is give to them by the teachers.
