Whenever someone turns the television on to watch the six o’clock news one of the nightly features will be about drugs. It was thought to be a problem that only big cities had but it is worldwide. The dealers conducted their business in secluded subcultures. In an interview with drug smugglers Temple University Press reported that contacts in Columbia had arranged the transportation of drugs in the late 1980’s and 1990’s. Post research has shown that the structure of drug organization in Colombia has evolved over the past twenty years (DEA, 1997 ; Bunker and Sullivan,1998) The drug distribution in Colombia was done thru Cartels. Do not use one to catch the other we will never solve the problem by doing this.
