What is a Good Writer? When I think of what a good writer is, a scene from Misery comes to mind as the actor playing the writer sits at his type writer banging away at the keys without hesitation; while in a warm room near a window in his home away from home, sheltered from the cold and snow outside. A good writer is someone who is healthy, creative, well versed, has something to tell and able to bring their thoughts to paper. I believe a good writer can be found in anyone; if a person digs deep enough from within themselves they can find something interesting to tell and produce good writing. Some people may think that Steven King is the best writer of all time while others may think that James Patterson is. Also, some people lean towards one type of writing over others. Everyone who writes basically has something to tell it’s up to the reader to decide if it’s interesting to him or herself. Being able to enjoy what your writing about, being good at communicating your thoughts through your words, having good grammar and punctuation skills and editing helps one in being a good writer.
