Consequently to the 9/11 attacks, the United States Government made significant modifications to what is surely considered to be one of the Countries most significant and important documents that has stood almost in tacked for over 200 years. Accordingly, our generation has earned the distinction of experiencing one of this century’s most important controversy. Therefor the debate of weather or not the Bush administration and congresses actions were un-American will go on, for possibly ever. Though no reasonable person can dispute the need to give the authorities we task with keeping our precious children safe from extremists who want nothing more than to see us dead, the tools they need to do what is seemingly an impossible job. Therefore, our modern day Jefferson’s and Franklins are guaranteed to have notched their place in history for acting so quick as to pass such big and heavy bill faster than any legislation has ever been passed before.

We dedicate this day, Veterans Day, to every single soldier who dedicated their lives so we could be where we are now. I am always and will always be grateful for what America has given me. Soldiers have been fighting for freedom for ages now. Two great examples of this would be World War I and World War II.

To call it a celebration is a bit of an overstatement. It is more like a remembrance of the fallen heroes and people that died during these attacks. Since these attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon on September 11, 2001 occurred, American society has changed significantly. National security has demanded a closer guard on foreign and domestic threats by placing further investigation and laws that many say weaken the rights to privacy we Americans take for granted.

There are historic moments in life that people will always remember: "Where were you on 9/11? "; "Where were you when JFK died?". For the members of the Silent Generation, it was "Where were you when Pearl Harbor was attacked?". It was dubbed the "Day of Infamy" by then-President Franklin Delano Roosevelt: a terrifying day that would live on in Americans' memories for the rest of their lives.
We should remember them and the good they did. Pearl Harbor fueled the American people to say no more. We didn’t want any more of our family members to die. That determination, because of that event, caused us to be the great American people we are today. For that, we should always remember Pearl
The Declaration of Independence gives us the opportunity to live the American dream. With Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, the Declaration change the way of life in America forever. It practically was a mascot for the United States. The lives of people today might have more trouble finding a solution to the American dream, but it is still a reachable goal for every citizen of the United States. The past 3-5 years have been particular tough on the people of America.
My mother had a best friend whose husband was killed in the attacks; apparently he was trapped in the first tower when it collapsed. So, we were visiting that family a lot, and comforting them whenever we could. But what really hit me hard was that this was just one family. After the attacks that day, hundreds and hundreds of people lost loved ones to one of the most brutal and barbaric attacks in human history. I was only in the 2nd grade at the time when the attacks happened, but I still knew how awful it would be to come home from school and find out that one of your parents were killed in a mass murder.
Like so many families, waving good-bye to a soldier could have meant that would be the last time they would be seen. Many thousands of wives, children, and parents hugged and said good-bye to brave and valiant young men who never returned. Mrs. Cave and her family witnessed the sad good byes. She said this was probably the most memorable part and this will stick with her the rest of her life. She also said from that day on, people did not want to be out of hearing distance of the radio; holding their breath at each news release regarding the raid on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese in a sneak attack which killed Americans and nearly destroyed the US Naval fleet.
Branham Jocelyn 2-3-15 Period 3 On September 11,2001 the Twin Towers which was the World Trade Center were attack by hijackers that entered on student visas, this attack changed America by opening our eyes, like to protect each other. America had a lot of up and downs through out the years. Being American is about seeing equality amongst everyone and knowing there should be liberty and justice for all. Everybody from an immigrant to a President, African American, and Caucasian all have different perspectives on what it means to be American? Equality?
