What do you prefer Old or New buildings? While walking on the street, we can see lots of tower cranes being used to build new buildings, there are many modern buildings equip with modern facilities which are convenient our life, so some people insist that a new building is better than maintaining an old building; old ones should be torn down and replace with modern buildings because people need houses and offices. While other people think old buildings should be preserved because they are valuable. In my point of view, I prefer old buildings, I will give reasons below. First, the old buildings could present the vitality and characteristic of a city, they do not only show specific architecture style of their period, but they serve as a tool of conveying the history of their place. For example, the palace of Versailles in France is importance in French history. When visitors are walking through its halls, they can learn about the history of the country. The Taj Mahal in India serves as a major historical reminder of Shah Jahan and his love of Mumtaz Mahal. Therefore old buildings should be preserved to teach people about history. Secondly, what old buildings do to benefit us is play a vital role in the developing of the tourism while also preserving historic. The architectural construction and the design style of the old buildings are intimately bound up with the local culture which is always an essential element attracting the tourist from all sides. In a way, respective cultures are unique. That is what the tourists really want to experience. As a travel lover, I might look forward to visit the historic spots of cities more than many modern buildings of downtown.
