What defines a hero? What does it take to be one? A hero is someone inspiring with a lot of courage and bravery, that would be willing to help others. An example of a hero is Odysseus from Odysseus and the Cyclops. One trait of being a hero is bravery. The act of bravery is having the ability to face difficulty without fear. An example of being brave would be when Odysseus saved his men from being eaten from the Cyclops. When someone’s not brave and is scared of everything, it’s called being a coward. A hero can’t be a coward because heroes sometimes need to go through a lot of difficulty in order to be heroic. Another heroic trait is being inspiring. Being inspiring is to be an influence to someone. One quote that is inspiring is, “Do one thing everyday that scares you,” quoted by Eleanor Roosevelt. Inspiration is important because it’s good to influence people to do what’s right, like exercising daily. Heroes can’t be uninspiring because they need to motivate others to achieve something worthy. So what defines a hero to me? Someone with a lot of courage and inspiration that doesn’t let things get in their way when trying to help others. Being brave and inspiring is very important to our society because there needs to be heroes out in the world influencing others to do the same, like help others and inspire people to do what’s good.
