What Caused the English Civil War to Start? Essay

In 1642 there was a civil war in England, between the king and parliament. The war was caused by religious, political and economic reasons. The war ended in 1649 where parliament won and copped King Charles I’s head off. In this paragraph I’m going to be talking about the religious side of the war. King Charles I married a French Catholic Princess which didn’t make him very popular with the parliament. Then he wanted a new prayer book for Scotland and the Scots got angry with him and started a war called The “Bishops War.” In this paragraph I’m going to be talking about the political side of the war. King Charles I, arrested 4MP’s, then he got rid of parliament. Then he asked for ship money from all over the world when there was no war, but the countries soon found out that he was using it for him self there was no war at all. In this Paragraph I’m going to be talking about the economic side of the war. King Charles I stood by his best friend and let him use all of parliament’s money to attack Spain. But the plan didn’t work and they returned failures. In conclusion, the most important cause was Political, because he arrested 4MP’s for no reason that I know of and got rid of parliament because he thought that God had choose him to be king so they should do as he says. The least important reason cause was Economic; because he stole money from other countries just for his own greed it is pretty important but not as important as religious and
