But now, some are going even further by using the word “war”, which also means top priority in the allocation of their resources to fulfil that goal, to describe the competition for the best and the brightest. So “the war for talent”, which is the exact term coined by Steven Hankin of McKinsey & Company in 1997, also mentioned in a book by Ed Michael. et al. (2001). The War for Talent.
