Not only did they improve their skills, they became important figureheads for generations to come. Helen Keller found freedom when she finally gained the ability to read. She felt that “The living word awakened her soul, gave it light, hope and joy set it free” (Keller). Before this point Helen had to rely solely on others to read for her and do things for her; by learning to read for herself she found independence. She was able to open up a world of possibilities and imagination by being able to read and improving her language skills.
Sahra Sheikhnur AP English Period 2 Eleanor Roosevelt, The most important First Lady “People grow through experience if they meet life honestly and courageously. This is how character is built” said First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. An American is someone that cares for everyone, no matter whom they are and where they come from. Looking back upon the day when my life truly changed forever I wouldn’t change a thing; I see the world differently than others. I cherish each and every moment I have here with my family and friends. I believe I cherish all those small moments in life just a little more than people who have never had to live a day with a chronic illness. There are moments within our lives that shape the road to where we are going. I truly believe there are imperative moments in our lives that can change us in just an instant.
I wasn’t able to be a regular 19 year old. I never got to experience what it was like to be totally carefree, with no one depending on me. Every decision I have made since the birth of my son in April of 1998 has been a decision I made with him in mind. I am now the ripe old age of 31, have three healthy children and am extremely blessed. My life hasn’t turned out the way I planned it long ago when I still had pigtails and played with Barbie dolls but Brendan and I have grown up together and learned from one another and because of this we have a special bond that I wouldn’t give up for the world.
Simplistic in though but complex in realty all wanted was to start a new. Threw the beginning of the trip I thought to myself that Chris was a brave individual to be able to leave home. To start from scratch to know that everything is going to work out for the best in the end. Helping and inspiring people while he was searching to find himself. Everyone that helped him along the way was instrumental in him reaching his goal.
Though, i know that with me being a full time employee and parent, college will be a little more complicated. I know that im on the road to sucess and that alone brings a great sence of sucess to my person, for which im very proud. I am very proud of being a role model to my children and family members. I have
I found that little girl that was so lost inside me once again and set her free. I found that I was no longer in need of that little girl anymore, because what I saw in front of me was a very strong woman. I could look at myself in the mirror and be proud of what looked back at me, I saw a new sparkle in my eyes, a new wonder about my future and a new determination I had never known before. I must say that this self-discovery was both agonizing and the most rewarding I have been on. It caused me to question my whole identity.
Marissa always got everything she wanted; I envied how she never had to do chores and got everything handed to her, but then I realized that in the end I became a more independent person because I worked hard for what I wanted. I was young and naïve, but what I did not realize was that she did not have a family that would go to the end of the earth for her and her family tried to buy her love instead of spending the time with her to show her. As a kid I had everything I needed, but not everything I wanted and that is what made me jealous of her. In Toni Cade Bambara’s piece of literature “The Lesson” Miss Moore showed kids, that knew nothing more than the projects, an expensive toy store called F.A.O. Schwartz to make them see that there
Madera’s narrative “One Voice” because her story caused me to reflect on an experience that I encountered earlier in my life. I will never forget the transition from fifth to sixth grade. It was an obstacle in my life that I thought I could not overcome; but I did and I believe it has made me into a much better individual today. Madera is a woman that battled with vigorous obstacles in her life. She never gave up when things became rough.
When it comes to her career she always pleased everyone and she couldn’t think about putting her job a side for anything (else?) any reason , however after being ill she didn’t did not cared CARE ( lo buscaste en el collocation? Es care about sth?) just asking about leaving
