In reading “The Martyrdom of Perpetua”, she was willing to sacrifice her life for her faith, even if it went against her father wishes. I am not sure if she understood her reasoning for being so stubborn in her life choices. Therese at a very young age she knew that she would three choices for her life, marriage, live at home as a single women caring for her father or to join the convent. At the age of 14 she told her father that she wanted to join the convent to serve God. Authenticity can be dependent on the individuals finding of faith and becoming true to oneself.
After his mother passed away Prince William had to adjust to not having his carefree and loving mother around to help him into becoming a great man. Everyone in the royal family helped the young Princes to grow up to be successful in adult life even though something tragic happened to them (Biography 2014). This journey is one of realisation and the pathway to maturity. This can be discussed in many different scenes from the movie. The most important thing to pete during the journey are his spiritual beliefs and ways learnt from his grandfather Jubbi. Before the journey pete was just a young boy, messing around with his best friend kalmain, believing his grandfathers 'old' ways were useless, and thinking he could look after himself but couldn't. The journey put pete into realisation that everything his grandfather had taught him had saved his and kalmains life.

In this quote Ultima tells Antonio that it is up to him to figure out what he believes. Although it is likely for him to share similar beliefs to his parents as a child, when he reaches “manhood” he will need to make his own decisions. Ultima wants Antonio to be his own person and not follow everyone else. Later on when it is time for Antonio’s first communion he is filled with anticipation that his answers pertaining to the golden carp’s existence and life will be answered. Santiago chooses his Legend and opposes what most people have done; ignore their aspirations. His choice to deny the norm, rebuke his education, disappoint his family, and trust fate proves that he is born to pursue his Personal Legend, thus, initiating the plot. Notably, Santiago is born with an instinctual love for travel and he is naturally curious and passionate in his situations. Santiago’s parents vie for their son to be an educated priest so he can be a source of pride in their village but “ever since he had been a child, he wanted to know the world, and this was much more important to him than knowing God and learning about man’s sins”(Coelho 8). Family honour is important to Santiago’s parents yet he still finds knowledge of the world more essential than the struggle

He was the class president and there is a way that they should act and that’s not it. He and the other boys respected the school wrong for them. And they are senior they should be the role model for those kids not the other way
